Understand your wish to have this, but unfortunately it's unlikely to happen given how few Bare Knuckle events there are.

There's too much code that needs to be written and adjusted to add a new sport to picks. There's a lot of features on the site that plug into the picks, like which awards have been unlocked, which events or picks are part of different fantasy games, whether knockouts or submissions or other methods are eligible. All this needs to be modified to add a new sport. Bare Knuckle just isn't likely to happen. Sorry!!

Why can't you just give it the same value as Boxing events?

We don't consider it the same sport.

It's very different but it's still Boxing. At least giving it the same value would make it pickable. I don't think it's so different that it should be excluded from the Boxing Keyword. It is much more like professional Boxing than any other combat sport in the way that a duck is very much more like a goose than a suspension bridge. Ducks and Geese are both considered poultry.

No athletic commission considers it boxing. Boxrec doesn't count it as boxing. Sorry guys, it's just not officially boxing.   And what that means is in the database we don't select boxing as the sport.  And when we don't select boxing or MMA as the sport, the fantasy and picking systems are not designed to allow it.  That's just how it is, sorry!!

@Mikey1903

I was referring to the kickboxing and Muay Thai fights that RIZIN and ONE Championship have on their events, I didn't mention BKFC or any bare-knuckle fighting.

I don't understand why athletic commissions don't see it as boxing. Besides the gloves or lack thereof, aren't the rules the same as traditional boxing? Or is there another major difference besides the lack of gloves?

@Stephen Terry

In BKFC, you are allowed to punch your opponent if you have them in a single collar tie, that isn't allowed in traditional boxing.

@joshjeffords

So bare knuckle boxing is more "old school" as in "going back to when the Queensbury Rules were introduced" old school? I know nothing about the bare knuckle stuff tbh.

Yes and it varies bkfc claims to use original rules from 18th century forget name but not queens.
BKB in Britian seems pretty much like modern boxing minus gloves etc.
Some include elbows and special knockdown and count rules all vary by organization.

Mikey is right, it isn't really boxing in the sense we think of it and believe it or not pro boxing is more like traditional boxing--and by that I mean the boxing that happened two hundred years ago--than bareknuckle.

Pro boxing wouldn't be possible without big foam pillows TBH. People hate on it but yeah, they do make for far more interesting and skillful contests which is why BK does and always will look ugly as ****.
