At the time of posting, which was not long after the news hit, she claims 90,000 people had already been infected--a massively greater number than what Chinese Media were reporting. She claims there's been a cover-up, and a secondary mutation is likely. Scary ****. Also hearing reports that it's much more dangerous than China has led the rest of the world to believe and that it is killing young people as well as the old.

In 30+ years of life, I have never seen anything like this. I have never seen basically the entire world shutting down. I can't even imagine the implications of this. The as-yet nominal losses I have taken are terrifying. No end in sight, either. The S&P flash dropped 7% not long ago. The ******* circuit breaker was triggered.
I wonder if people actually understand the flow on effect of a global shutdown happening for even a day. A week is horrendous. A month is beyond comprehension. 12 months? End of civilization as people know it. That's not an overstatement.

This is sort of a once in a century sort of deal it seems now Fishrat. This used to be far more common during the medieval age and the renaissance period and such. Black Death, Smallpox, Malaria, Cholera, you name it. The last big pandemic event to cause this kind of halting of society in the last century was the Spanish Flu (unless you also want to include Ebola and the AIDS crisis as being pandemics).

The system we live in, the way it works....is not set up for this. It cannot absorb extended periods of inactivity. I cannot even imagine what that looks like.

I just can't believe that it took this Coronavirus to shut down the globe. When I feel like the world has seen some extremely terrible **** already that has not shutdown everything. It's understandable why the world is about to be full blown chaos. I've seen glimpses of it already. I already seen two women about to brawl in the grocery store over the last can of baby formula that they both reached for at the same time. Sooooo what're ppl gonna do when there's just no more of what they need? They'll move to taking drastic measures. They'll stop at nothing to obtain whatever it is. Just like a junkie will commit whatever crime possible to obtain their dope... I see it coming. And The Doors "People Are Strange" will become the worldwide anthem (ok a little off the rails there)

Swain I was listening to Dan Lebetard this morning. It sounds like police went through the beach in Miami with a horn blaring. Ordering beach goers to leave the beach.

My storefront may be locked Monday morning. Customers will have to call ahead. And pay with credit card. And I will have to do some sort of curbside service.
I was explaining this to one of my regular cash customers who had his son in the store with him. Kid was probably 12 he says. "Well that's just gonna make your job harder." I looked him in the eyes and said "I'll do what I have to, to keep working through this. I don't want to get laid off. I don't want to file for unemployment."
I'm keeping it together. But I'm on edge.

What's your business Dragonfly?
It's gonna be real tough for small businesses in the coming months. The big fish will be fine as always. In fact this is great for them in the long run.

I'm not a business owner, just a salesmen. I sell cylinder gases and welders. We're a global franchise. We'll be fine there is no alternative for cylinder gases right now. But with restaraunts closing our Co2 sales are down. We will be okay though. We have manufacturing right now.
I'd still rather not get laid off. And file for unemployment. Would take nearly a month to get the first check. And even with our governor stating mortgage and rental payments would be suspended for one month. I'd still rather not have to deal with all that. Would rather just keep working and pay my mortgage on time.

But things are gonna keep slowing down GM just shut down the big 3 for 3 weeks. All the manufacturing here in Michigan will slow down.
We still have to sell Medical gas though. So I'm pretty confident if everything shuts down for 3 weeks. I'll stay working.
But if I can't stay employed I want to find a way to help people. I'm not gonna stay in my house and hide.
