At the time of posting, which was not long after the news hit, she claims 90,000 people had already been infected--a massively greater number than what Chinese Media were reporting. She claims there's been a cover-up, and a secondary mutation is likely. Scary ****. Also hearing reports that it's much more dangerous than China has led the rest of the world to believe and that it is killing young people as well as the old.

See that's another reason why I never understood why the IOC never had a "plan b" in place for extreme **** like this that "could" happen. Of course they cant plan for bad **** to happen, but they should've learned from past games, that it'd probably be wise to have a backup plan.

@brad they’ll probably have them here, the us due to their sports facilities are one of the only places on earth than can host an event like that on short notice. Just hope the Chinese can’t come

You're absolutely right. There's probably a few places in the world that would have the facilities & venues to take on such a massive event on short notice. Even if they gotta Split everything up. Basketball in Spain. Baseball in the Dominican Republic. Soccer in Brazil. Boxing in the USA. Etc. Etc. It'd be cool to have a "Global Olympic Games". It would also be easier for all the host countries to get everything set up & ready to go, if they've only got one sport each to hold. Idk. It's HIGHLY UNLIKELY that'll happen, but it'd definitely be an easier fix given the short notice nature

Meh. Amicans ruined my interest in this by making it part of their "political discourse". Plus, people are too stupid for containment to be on the table. Especially considering it was the CCP who had the ball first and unsurprisingly played the game with utter self interest. Humanity isn't up to snuff and mother knows it. I expect she'll throw up some more curve balls this year. Good luck all. Try not to be a ******. Learn to swim.

I'm from Italy, 12462 total cases (2nd most in the world after China ofc), and from the region where seemingly all began (Lombardy).
We have been locked down. We can't leave home if not to go to to work, to get food or medicines. And we have to prove that to the police if we are stopped.
It's surreal.

Tom Hanks caught it in Australia, and we only have like 129 cases of which he and his wife are two.
You can't beat luck.

Monkeys rioting in the streets of Thailand because there's no tourists to feed them. I think there's an analogy in there, somewhere.
