Whittaker is out due to undisclosed personal reasons!
The UFC is making an effort to keep Cannonier on the card but no opponent has been announced.
In my opinion the only eligible matchups would be with Till, Gastelum, Brunson, or Shahbazyan. I have a feeling it’s going to be Till.

I think Whittaker has really bad depression. He puts on a brave face but yeah I think it's serious and it seems to have gotten worse since he lost his belt. I think he needs to take a year or so off TBH.

Now that you mention it, I could see that as being the case.
As for the year off idea - that’s a tricky one. For his own mental health I 100% agree. For his career, that’s kind of a weird one that goes both ways in my opinion.
At the end of the day you have to take care of yourself first and foremost.

I mean really he got KO'ed twice in the Adesanya fight. Taking a huge puncher like cannoneer wasn't a smart career choice in the first place so soon after that IMO. He's young, he's got a lot of years of fighting left in him but he needs time to properly recover and recalibrate. Let the other monsters in the division beat the **** out of one another for a year and jump back in when the dust settles. He said in an interview with Helwani not long ago that he didn't like being champion because of the media obligations. I believe him, Australians aren't used to having cameras stuck in their face and just generally don't handle fame well.

That makes sense. I know a lot of guy don’t like the pressure of being champ and the weight it puts on your shoulders.
All of that being said, who do you think is the best/most likely replacement?

Facts.
Plus, Dana was already eying a fight for Till on either the Vegas(this one) or London card.
Kinda sucks though. I’m part of what seems to the minority of people who like Till. I think Cannonier will finish him.

I initially thought Cannonier made the most sense for the next title shot(and I still do), but as GringoCaliente said, I really want to see Adesanya fight Yoel.

Till won't take it IMO. Maybe Jacare or Weidman....Rockhold? It will be someone desperate because Cannoneer is a dangerous fight for little reward.

LMAO!
Jacaré is fighting Hall in April so he’s out.
Rockhold or Weidman... now those would be solid gold.
But watch, we laugh and joke about it, then Weidman comes back, pulls off the miracle upset, gets a title shot, and beats Adesanya.

Dana says he wants Till v Cannonier in London. Could be Vegas 248 as thats what Till posted on insta, but I believe Conor will want to fight on that card after he beats Cerrone, so Dana will put Till on London to space out the big names.

No offense, but that’s kind of an ignorant question.
Couldn’t the same have been said about say... Robin Williams? Or any famous person that has committed suicide?
Just because someone’s life looks great from our perspective doesn’t mean it’s great from theirs.
Not to mention Whittaker’s home country is on fire.

@Free it doesn't work like that. I've known people who have had everything they have ever wanted who have committed suicide. I think there's a lot of truth to the old Maxim 'Be careful what you wish for because you just might get it'.
