ladylover213... Aoki has had a whopping 2 fights in the US, in a cage.

He lost a decision to Melendez, and he ran through Beerbohm.

Sure, most Japanese fighters have not fared too well in the US, but we should judge them all as individuals.

Top ten rankings are more about what you have done than they are about what you haven't done.  Aoki's fought some of the best at 155 and beaten a lot of them.  It's not top ten most well rounded lightweights, or top ten best lightweights at fighting in a cage, it's best lightweights period, and Aoki belongs there.

im not judging them all. thats why i said most. some of them have adapted very well i just dont see aoki as one of them. i love aoki and he has one of the very best jui-jitsu games in the sport but with the people he fights and the organizations he fights in idt he shuld be ranked a top 10 fighter

Aoki is a top ranked fighter there should be no questioning that. Aoki can run into the same problems that hury Eddie Alvarez and that's lack of ranked competition. They can start to slide down and a loss to any of their unranked opponents would be devastating.

@justynbomar Looking at most of your posts, you're normally wrong. You have Guillard and Jim Miller above him...

Aoki has pretty much reached his peak on my list until we see him fight over in The States again. He is a fantastic fighter, but I still have a lot of questions about him.
