zarog, that was just for the "Ben Henderson is unsubmittable" crowd. And we've seen that BJJ isn't as effective as wrestling and G'n'P at the highest levels because of the submission defense of the top fighters so Frankie's escapability has to considered a major advantage as well.

Niklust, I didn't remember that. I'll have to rewatch but I'll believe you. Fitch has a very underrated BJJ game.

zarog, Diaz did NOT escape from back control because he (very pointedly) did not let him ever get the 2nd hook in.

@mule BJ still had his back. Maybe I put a little too much stock in that fight because BJ hasn't looked good in over 2 years.

True he hasn't looked very motivated lately. I was specifically thinking of the Diaz fight when I made that statement though. I was very impressed with Nick for preventing and escaping. BJ's back mount used to mean certain defeat and I just remember thinking "Okay this is finally over" when BJ got Frankie's back and then he escaped.

@mule Also, BJ does get Fitch's back with both hooks with about 2:15 left in the first round if you were wondering.

that's what I told myself after his last fight so I'm gonna stick with Edgar on this one

I'm a bit surprised by how many people still doubt Frankie.

@geezhound It's not doubting Edgar. It's believing in Benson Henderson.

@geezhound I actually would pick Edgar against practically anybody else in the division. Ben's just the kind of guy to give Frankie problems. Great cardio, incredible submission defense, strong in the clinch, upper-tier wrestling, hard as heck to KO, pretty fast considering his size, and constantly pressing the attack on his opponent. Ben really turned a corner after his loss to Pettis. His motivation to do well has gone through the roof and right now I don't see anybody stopping him. Frankie poses the best challenge in the LW division, but I think Ben pulls it off. Frankie makes it to decision though, proving that he's still one of the toughest guys around. Hopefully he moves down to 145, beats someone up and then fights Aldo.

Over time I have been leaning more towards Edgar, but I can't go against Bendo now. I hate him dominating Edgar when this fight was first announced, and I suppose I should stick by that. Plus Henderson is the man.

I'm going with Ben Henderson.  But then again, I saw no way that Frankie could have beaten Maynard or Penn.  So my prophecies are something less than those of well-known seers Nostradamus or Edgar Cayce.

I think Henderson will be the new title holder and his biggest challenge will come from Jim Miller.  Miller was supposedly not 100% when they fought.  I also hope Ben gives both Guillard and Nate Diaz their title shots.  They have both paid a lot of dues and are deserving candidates.

I am opposed to the UFC policy of having to put together a win streak to qualify.  Too many variables come into play, not to mention blind luck.

While it's true that Frankie brings a relentless pressure, so does Clay Guida.  And after watching how Ben dispatched him in summary fashion, how can anyone believe that Frankie's pressure is greater than Ben's?  And Ben is stronger, bigger, and about as quick.  His scrambles against Guida showed the reflexes of people you normally think of as small.  Ben is big for a LW AND fast and quick.
