Would it effect the sport for better or worse, or no change? This is one of the purposes of the newly formed EMMAA.

They have taekwondo, boxing, wrestling and judo. So I guess MMA isn't too much of a stretch. Although, in boxing they have them wear headgear and such. Maybe they could do an old school Pancrase thing with no closed handed strikes to the head or something.

It could be good for the sport as far as international acceptance, but it doesn't really matter much if it never happens. The sport has pretty firmly carved out it's own niche that will continue to grow regardless of the Olympics.

I don't think Pro MMA could be incorporated into the Olympics, but combat sambo would make sense, it's basically amateur MMA.

I honestly love the idea...... They'd hafta implement PFL's NO ELBOWS rule tho. I know alotta you guys hate that rule. I personally like elbows. (Paul Felder's elbow game) but, I understand why it's in place. And in the Olympics, it lasts what, A whole month. Or 30 days or something. They can't get all sliced and gashed open when they got multiple matches

I really like the concept but don't see how it could at all be feasible. There's too many ways to get hurt and worn out. In mma a quick turnaround is under 3 months I'd say, and a match a week at a high level is unheard of.

MMA was already in the Olympics for generations in the form of "Ancient Pankration" so in a way they would just be bringing it back in the modern form

it would be heavily regulated and rules etc, which is fine because its amateur. but yeah no such thing as bad publicity so im sure it would be beneficial all round
