What do you think the opening lines would be on a fight between Anderson Silva and Jon Jones if Silva moved up to try and win the Light Heavyweight belt?  Also, what do you think the outcome of the fight would be?

I would call a 3rd round TKO (knee to face) by Silva.

I don't think Jones is ready for Silva. The spider by KO

I think Jones is waay too big for Anderson.

Unless Anderson lands some crazy Matrix **** early in the fight, Jones would absolutely ragdoll him in the clinch, and groundNpound him something ugly.

just read that rashad would pick silva over bones on bjpenn.com. he said silva would catch jones doing something crazy. i think that's fair to say. although bones is phenomenal, i think anderson is still on another level maybe except for wrestling. i don't think we'll ever see this fight though unfortunately. silva vs gsp seems more likely to me for some reason

If the fight ever happened I would die from excitement, so maybe it's not such a good idea.

Jons would dominate because not only could me strike with silva but he could take him down and GnP him at any time without really having to worry about getting sub'd

Jones can be pretty sloppy on the feet, especially compared to Anderson. If he didn't take it to the ground I see him getting caught pretty early.

Well with Anderson saying he wants to fight 6 or 7 more years I think this matchup has a really good chance of happening assuming that Jones continues to defend the belt. Right now I think Anderson would beat Jones but as time goes on Jones is only to get better so the longer we wait for this fight the more I think it tips the scales towards Jones. Either way I can't wait to see it happen regardless of the winner.

Listen I dont hate Silva, actually I strongly dislike Jon Jones ... but Anderson would get absolutely destroyed by Jones. The fact Anderson has trouble with wrestlers is definitely a big factor but also Jones has crazy good striking. He is Anderson Silva but with a great wrestling pedigree.

Silva won't fight anyone good at 205. He would rather retire then fight Jones. Anderson said himself he's not fighting at 205 ever again. He wants to stay at 185 where he can fight Bisping or maybe they can go find Leites or Lutter.

@p4pgoat you don't consider Forrest Griffin a good fighter?? He fought him at 205, I don't think Anderson would have an issue fighting anyone at 205 if that's what the UFC wants him to do.

@poir an injured Forrest Griffin no. Griffin is a taylor made opponet for Silva. No wrestling ability and a sloppy stand up game. Of course Silva was going to beat him down.

well I don't remember him being injured before that fight but Forrest is still a good fighter either way and I think if the UFC want's him to fight Jones at 205 I see him doing it is all I'm saying

I respect your opinion but I highly doubt Silva ever fights at 205. Forrest had a broken hand going into that fight.

well I guess we can agree to disagree, he also fought Irvin at 205 not that he's anything special. But to say you highly doubt he will ever fight at 205 and he has had 2 fights at 205 seem's a little weird

What does Forrest' broken hand have to do with anything? You're not actually trying to suggest that fight would've went any differently do you?

I'm just going by what Anderson said himself. Dana said publically he wants to stay at 185 for the remainder of his career. If he signed up to fight Jones I think that would be such an epic fight but I don't think he has any desire to fight Jon Jones.

he has no desire to fight Jones. He doesn't owe it to us either. He has delivered for years, and he is getting towards the end of his career. LEt the man do what he wants. Are you seriously trying to say that Griffin was injured in that fight? GTFO. Forrest Griffin won a decision with a broken arm. The only thing holding him back in that fight was his inferior fighting ability compared to Silva.
