Who's the your favorite ref in the game? I believe Big John McCarthy will be the most common answer, he is the most well known MMA referee ever. But I would like to know, if you're going into a fight, and you can personally choose any referee to oversee your fight, who would it be and why?

For me, it's Noooo question. It'd be without a doubt, Marc Goddard. I think he's the best referee in the game now. But I have a 2nd part to my answer. If I was going into a fight against someone I strongly disliked and reeaaally wanted to hurt bad, Again, without a doubt, it'd be Yves Lavigne. Because he's an absolute savage. He reminds me of an old school ref, one that let's the action really play out until one is completely disconnected from their senses. He rarely will stop a fight if the person receiving the Beatdown is still conscious. He's a savage. So that's my final answer..... MARC GODDARD overall, annnd YVES LAVIGNE reserved for KO's by way of attempted homicide

Goddard gives himself too big of a roll in every fight. To me the best ref is hardly seen ..give me someone like Keith Peterson, Jason Herzog or Mike Beltran.

Yeah, I agree. Kieth is probably the best on balance. If I had my way, Kieth refs, and Dan Hardy commentates.

I would want either Herb Dean or Mark Goddard to be the referee.

If life got too much and I wanted it all to end, Steve Mazzagatti would be the natural choice.

Keith Peterson all day.

Herb Dean has been solid for a long time. Every ref that has reffed enough fights has ****** up here and there.

And yes, I'm pretty sure Yves Lavine should be charged with attempted manslaughter or something for how he reffed Matt Brown vs Pete Sell.

I don't love Goddard's temperament out there. He seems to have a bit of ego when he refs.

Herb Dean is in the top 3 worst referees of all time.

Hmm, to each their own I guess.

One thing we can probably all agree on (assuming you guys know your oldschool ****) is that Cecil Peoples is the all time P4P king of ****** reffing.

Geeezus.... Cecil Peoples. I agree with the Herb Dean comment. He used to do a wayyy better job, than recently. I was gonna make a case for Jason Herzog. Kinda surprised nobody bashed Yamasaki tho.

@Swain I don't think Cecil was corrupt so much as just amazingly **** at his job...he adjudicated like a dementia patient and is probably the most incompetent referee of all time. Herb Dean strikes me as being far, far more corrupt. In fact I have no doubt he's on the take.

All jokes aside I'd say Yamasaki and mazagatti are the worst herb Dean has been slipping for years now.
I forget his name but I'd take the guy with the troll slayer beard.

P.s. can't remember Cecil people's. Must of lost those brain cells with his memory to weed.

The sad thing is Herb used to be excellent.  Now he has slowly become Mazzagatti levels of bad nowadays.

@Alias mostly because i full heartedly believe any sport with betting will have officials and judges on the take.

he was either corrupt as they come or so mentally challenged he shouldn’t be aloud to walk down a padded hallway without safety helmet. He’s one of thee most experienced judges and still got more wrong than right. Maybe I’m a conspiracy theorist or maybe you’re naive but either way the has no business judging any competition IMO

Throw another catastrophic judge I believe was in the take or ********: Adelaide Byrd was also just awful in both MMA and boxing.
