Yeah I would assume it’s because it’s Rich Franklins version of warriors series ,so I’m sure he’s more focused on MMA and knows a lot about scouting talent . Looking forward to this one if I can stay awake haha

I think ONE Hero Series only looks at Chinese fighters.

@brad  I'm not really sure what the difference is myself? All I know is that they are both a feeder system for ONE Championships bigger shows. Like @tepid said I think that 1of the main differences is that they each covers different regions of Asia. With Hero Series being China and Warrior Series for South East Asia and Australasia.  I'm not sure though?

Australasia ???????? Is that a legit place or region in this world? I'm not being sarcastic for once.

But I was kinda thinking the ONE warrior & hero series was kinda like a Dana White's Contender Series or Ultimate Fighter...... But that was all I knew. I didn't know of any other difference other than a different name. Thanks guys

@brad  Did you not study Geography at school bud!? lol   Australasia is Australia, New Zealand, Tasmania and Papua New Guinea. Also known as Oceania.

Also ONE headquarters are in Singapore.  South East Asia(Phillipines, Indonesia, Malaysia) is where most of their events have been held. But they have been making successful inroads into China and Japan this past year or so and if they keep growing at the rate they have been recently I wouldn't be surprised if they held an event in the US or Europe in the near future.

That's your Geography lesson for the day mate!

Yeah this HERO series just started this year .. I think there have been 5 Hero series events so far. Maybe 6.. I think they are held once each month. And they have all been in China.
And the Warriors series has been happening for awhile .. I think for 3-4 years.. It is kind of like the contender series really. Rich Franklin picks guys and girls from these events for the big ONE FC cards. And I think Miesha Tate is more involved with HERO(OHS) .. This Warrior series card is pretty good, better than most  . Most of the time the HERO and Warrior series are a ring instead of a cage. I’m wondering tonight with all MMA fights on this card if they will have a cage. A lot of times there are a lot of kickboxing and MT fights..

Does that bother you guys, when they fight in a ring instead of a cage? I see how ONE works their MMA fights in a Ring, but I kinda hafta imagine it changes up a fighters takedown / wrestling game a little if they like working off the fence

@brad.. yeah it’s a huge difference for guys used to the fence.. I’ve seen it a bunch of times , where a guy is used to wall walking his back up the fence, he is STUCK laying under ropes hoping for a stand -up.. I hated it at first. But it actually doesn’t come into  play near as much as you would think..  and of course they’ve got the guy standing all around the ring who push on the ropes to try to keep them taught ..

Dang Mikey I had to look up what the hell Australasia was!! Lol But that doesn’t have anything to do with Singapore or China where OHS and OWS are mainly held does it? I didn’t know they went to the oceanic islands ., but damn dude you know your Geography a hell of alot better than me!! I never heard of Australiasia!! Lol

Haha! I enjoyed Geography, when I was a kid I liked looking at all the different places on the globe. At least some of it sunk in!

I was just saying that the Warrior series features fighters from that part of the world, not that the events are based there. Whereas the Hero series features mostly Chinese. I was pointing out that  a difference between the 2 series is where the fighters are based. It seems that way anyway?  It's only been this past year or so that I've been following ONE so I'm not exactly an expert on the subject, lol! It's quickly became a favourite of mine, I can't get enough of it!

Like I said man, you seem to KNOW that area of world better than me..  yeah I’ve really started to enjoy ALL the ONE events. I LOVE the kickboxing and Muay Thai with the 4oz gloves! Adds a whole new dimension to those sports. And all their events are FREE to watch.. the time kind of sucks for me, but if I fall asleep replays are easily available! Unlike some other promotions.

Kickboxing is alright, ONE have certainly signed a lot of talent, enough to rival GLORY roster. But I love the Muay Thai!!! There's a guy from the UK Jonathan Haggerty who is brilliant! He just won the ONE Flyweight title in an amazing fight against Sam A. Honest, you should check it out if you haven't seen it already it's on YouTube and it's amazing!!!

@Mikey I actually like kickboxing in 4's. I think one is kickboxing, I can't remember seeing any elbows thrown. Wouldn't watch any of the legit Muay Thai comps these days,it's generally just clash, retreat, clash and it gets boring quickly and often just turns in to exhibition matches, but it's a different deal in little gloves and much more exciting. I watched the Sam A fight, it was a good brawl, Haggerty isn't close to the best Thai Boxer I've seen but he's entertaining. Definitely a scrapper and game as ****.
