Islam could have 1 arm tied up and would still out-grapple Ramos

You'll likely never see a product of Eagles MMA losing via Submission.

If Sambo was easy it would be call Jiu Jitsu.

Prediction Comments

Predictions: 7 of 13 Winners, 3 Perfect, 475 Points   |   Tied for 1269th

Nurmagomedov vs. Poirier
Khabib Nurmagomedov, DEC
i usually work prelims up, but i'll work top down on this one. odds are wider than i thought on this one. feels like a piece to potentially hedge with. i favor khabib, but dustin is clearly going to test his boxing. the odds make this look like a mismatch, but it's really a coin flip.

Felder vs. Barboza II
Edson Barboza, DEC
hard to call because they've fought before. hard not to favor barboza in a standup fight, but felder is hard to finish and has power of his own.

Makhachev vs. Ramos
Islam Makhachev, SUB, R2
might be some fun scrambles here. i think makhachev is more likely to be able to push his grappling pace and for longer.

Blaydes vs. Abdurakhimov
Curtis Blaydes, TKO, R2
curtis "should" win this, though i keep doubting shamil after the lewis fight and i keep getting bitten. i guess blaydes is really more likely to go down from a standing strike, but i'm hoping he's more keen on pressing the wrestling.

Taisumov vs. Ferreira
Mairbek Taisumov, TKO, R2
it's been such a slow road up for taisumov, but this is clearly a step in the right direction. it's possible diego just gets clipped and finished, but if he doesn't then he's at least gonna push forward a bit and make it competitive.

Calderwood vs. Lee
Andrea Lee, DEC
likely decision, could go either way. i'm gonna pick lee and hope to be wrong. she has the tools to compete, just needs to stay out of the clinch i think.

Tukhugov vs. Murphy
Zubaira Tukhugov, DEC
so zubaira hasn't fought in 3 years, but still a weird booking against someone with under 10 fights.

Moras vs. Jojua
Sarah Moras, SUB, R2
not getting a lot of confidence from jojua's resume so i'll go with moras and her serviceable top game.

Packalén vs. Azaitar
Ottman Azaitar, TKO, R1
still think abu was overrated, ottman could be too, but if he can defend td attempts and not gas then this is probably his fight.

Muhammad vs. Sato
Takashi Sato, DEC
screw it, i'm gonna go with sato's range. i don't think he'll be a fish on the ground either.

Taleb vs. Salikhov
Nordine Taleb, DEC
don't remember salikhov having much in the way of tdd so nordine should have more options.

Cummings vs. Akhmedov
Omari Akhmedov, DEC
i guess i see zak staying on the back foot and trying to counter. omari might do the stalking, but not sure anything big will connect on either side.

Madge vs. Ziam
Don Madge, TKO, R2
just rollin with the hype. france still has some building to do, as does south africa, but madge is training with champion level fighters now.

@massa  You don't rate Ramos ground game??? He's an ADCC Champion and easily 1 of the best BJJ guys in MMA.
I know Makhachaev has great ground game but he was swept by Tsaruykan so Ramos can definetly give him a lot to worry about.  I'm just a little tempted to pick Ramos early sub. Either that or late TKO, most likely a UD for Makhachaev

I'm going to agree with Mikey. Ramos is a ******* beast and has been on a tear lately. He could definitely upset Makhachev and this fight is way more competitive than people are thinking.

I do rate it, significantly BELOW the wresting of Dagestan.

Ramos isn't on a tear, he's on a RNCing the worst fighters possible run. Beating Alpaca Gunther means something? No, it doesn't. Beating Austin Hubbard means something? No, it doesnt. Ramos has faced 1 good fighter and lost that fight. This will be a knife through butter @Fish

Islam is the only human-body on the planet that can give Khabib a run for his money...

Tsarukyan would out-grapple Ramos as well. "BJJ" is done. Even the specialist are losing now. Manny Bermudez lost to wrestling. Maia has lost to wrestling and will again (damn you Rocco) etc

Wresting is Big **** on Campus right now.

ADCC stands for "I didn't face any Americans or Russians to win this award"

Omar Nurmy could roll out of bed in the morning and school every Gracie on the planet. 100% a fact.

Poirier has the cardio, striking, black belt in jiu-jitsu, and decent takedown defense to upset Khabib! I’m hoping he does win, it would be insane.

I just noticed Khabib has 44% takedown accuracy.. while Dustin has 69% takedown defense. I think this may be Khabibs toughest fight. Mcgregor stopped 2 takedowns I believe from Khabib, If Mcgregor can do that I’m sure Dustin can too.

I can see Dustin ending the fight in the later rounds.

I think you'll find that statistic belies the fact he sets a lot of things up and abandons them in favor of different maneuvers. But yeah, Dustin has a much better shot at stifling them than mcnuggets.

Not gonna lie, it would be delicious to see Dustin prevail in the shariah goat**** axis of evil. Let's hope he's got the goods.

Dustin might be able to stuff 1, 2, hell maybe 3 shots. How neat. Here's a cookie.

Khabib would be the wrestling coach at ATT. Mike Brown is a glorified midget. and if Mike Freaking Brown can get you down, Khabib is going to annihilate you. So Dustin better hope he can keep Khabib off, because if not there's no evidence to support the claim that Dustin will be able to get back up.

Eventually he's on his back with that same look on his face that Barboza had. Eventually Dustin will realize that not even the whole state of Louisiana can stop the Eagle from landing. Dustins life is silly & minuscule in comparison and he will shrink inside that cage until Khabib squashes him like a bug.
