HOLM vs NUNES

holm by decision

this is a dicey pick to be sure. holm definitely has the movement and counter striking skills to give nunes a very hard time, if she can avoid any prolonged exchanges. but honestly i feel like nunes has filled her own head with goat talk and shes ripe for the picking just like ronda was.i 'll take holm by decision but that left head kick of hers is deadly so it wouldnt surprise me to see her land it late if nunes gasses a little.

MASVIDAL vs ASKREN

masvidal ko round 2 or 3

this is another dicey pick. im with fish, nothing would make me happier than to see jorge ko askren stiff. but i have to say ben showed a surprisingly good chin against robbie but if you watch closely it almost looked like he went limp for a split second at one point when robbie was on his back. i do think the longer the fight goes the better jorges chances get. his motivation comes to him after the fight starts, i think askren will maul him the first round and then jorge will come on strong in the second and third.

It was a very rare 1-armed Kimura from top, something that HAS NEVER happened in the UFC before.

ROCKHOLD VS BLACHOWICZ

rockhold by decision or late stoppage

a lot of unknowns in this fight. after getting ko'd in 2 of his last 3 fights there is a big ? about lukes chin. he has taken over a year off and thats good. jan isnt big on ko's, hasnt had one since latifi in 2014. i'll take rockhold for the win with kinda low confidence.

SANCHEZ vs CHIESA

sanchez by decision

i know diego is on the tail end of his career and has been in a few too many wars and this is a heart pick more than a head pick. but his style and cardio might be a problem for chiesa.

OUT OF THE 5 MAIN CARD FIGHTS I'VE PICKED 4 DOGS. I WILL EITHER BE A HERO OR A ZERO AFTER THIS CARD. LOL. CANT WAIT!!

MELENDEZ vs ALLEN

allen by decision

this could be fight of the night imo. both of these guys leave it all in the cage and neither is a finisher.

GADEHLA vs MARKOS

markos by decision

this is pretty much a who gives a **** fight. i thought gadehla lost her fight with esparza so shes on a 3 fight skid imo and should be no where near the top 5. markos has a win, loss, win, loss record and is 4-5 in her last 9. shes disappointed me more times than i can count. if this is the best straw weight fight the ufc can come up with the division is in trouble.

Prediction Comments

Predictions: 9 of 12 Winners, 5 Perfect, 615 Points   |   Tied for 356th

Nunes v Holm
Amanda Nunes, TKO, R1
Holm's defense is too good on the feet.  Nunes takes her down, securing the mount, and finishing with ground and pound.

Askren v Masvidal
Ben Askren, DEC
Masvidal's submission defense is good enough to escape loss by submission, but he succumbs to the grinding machine that is Askren's wrestling.

Chiesa v Sanchez
Michael Chiesa, DEC
A candidate for FOTN, Sanchez's BJJ and wrestling are good enough to neutralize Chiesa's grappling MO, but Chiesa will prove the busier aggressor, just eking out a split decision over the underrated Sanchez.

Melendez v Allen
Arnold Allen, DEC
Allen outboxes the indefatigable Melendez, and only a TKO by doctor's stoppage could get the tough-as-nails Melendez to throw in the towl.  Another candidate for FOTN, especially if it goes to decision.

Naurdiev v Rencountre
Ismail Naurdiev, TKO, R1
Rencountre goes in for the take down.  Naurdiev is ready with a flying knee.

Jon Jones vs Thiago Santos

Predictions: 11 of 12 Winners, 6 Perfect, 775 Points   |   Tied for 8th with 1 other

Jon Jones
Pros :
Cardio , Wrestling and his overall game is good
Cons :
We have never seen him get hit by a power puncher yet and if he gets sloppy like he did the first round against Anthony Smith he might get into trouble.

Thiago Santos:

Pros:
He has power and his kicks are lethal if he sets them up correctly
Cons :
His gas tank is a suspect and if he gets reckless against Jon Jones he will regret it badly because Jon will take advantage of that.

Prediction:
I think Jon Jones will try and get it to the ground and try to either TKO Santos or submit him .
For Thiago Santos he will most likely get in there and try to knock JBJ into oblivion. Unless if he plays it smart like he did against Jan.

If Holm wins i'll probably stop watching UFC. Horrendous fighter with horrendous boxing coming from a horrendous gym full of horrendous fighters.

Pico proved JacksonWink is trash. "blast double x10 & go hit the pads with that 1 eyed guy"...brilliant. That place is a joke. They literally let people in off the street to train with pro's. The coaches aren't good at coaching.

I'm not going to listen to a man with 1 leg telling me how to wrestle. IDGAF how he lost it. You have 1 eye and want to tell me about striking? LOL sit down ya old fart. If you knew anything about striking than you wouldn't have lost an eye to a rookie throwing a kick.

All those medals Holm won in Boxing are fake. Valentina proved that. Nunes should knock a big fat hole right through that punch-drunk giraffes face 100/100 times. Period.

Jones vs Santos

Jones, Submission R4.

I can't pick Thiago in this one; the grappling divide is simply too great; if Jones ever gets in trouble, he can just rely on this to get him out of it. That and Thiago doesn't have the dirty boxing chops to make this competitive in the clinch the way DC did. That said, Jones last outing against Smith is a concern, as it can be read one of two ways: Either Jones was deliberately trying to win by decision and didn't actively  push for the sub, which frankly he could have gotten easily from round 4 onwards, or he's not the same fighter he used to be. I believe it can be explained by the first option; this isn't illegal, and fighters do this all the time.

I think Thiago will do what he does, which is put 100% in to every shot, but he won't find a home for one of those missiles. He'll gas, and Jones will take over from there. Might be Hellbows from side control, or mount, might be a choke. But it will happen. I think Walker is the guy to bring it to Jones. Maretta is a bit too conventional. Maretta's best shot is of course a KO, although if I were devising his strategy, it would involve repeated straight boxing combinations and exits.

@bruce
Diego Sanchez left Jackson wink. He said it felt like going through the motions with winkel John and Greg Jackson shows up once or twice. He that Jones and Holly got all the attention because they have title fights.
Sounds like Sanchez still really wants to be the best.

As far as santos c'mon bro he's too small Jones uses his reach soon good. Santos will look like Smith or Gustafson. Either beaten up the whole fight or ko quickly. He's too small.

How come the supposed "GOAT" of MMA doesn't have a SINGLE clean KO on his record? How?

98% of the world has a clean KO from a punch...not Jones. Not even close.

Amanda Ribas has KO'd a human-being stiff....not Jon Jones.
