I don't really like the flags, there is a lot more nationalities than is represented on there, the sides of the octagon for the belt aren't all equal either which bugs me, I think I like the other one better.

I do like the little side patches that will be engraved with the date of the title defense and changing the white stones to red, thats kinda cool

I like it.  It looks more distinct and valuable than the previous belts.  I like the personalization, the name plate, and I love the concept of signifying title defenses, that's a great idea.

I've seen tons of outrage about this belt online today. And I'm not really sure why. The old belt wasn't something extraordinary, it had appeal because of its history. But this new belt is fine. I don't understand how people are getting this upset about it.

It's not upsetting.  Its just personal taste. I'm not liking the straight angles in the design. I love how each belt will be unique and personalized to the champion. Thats how all belts should be.
They should let fighters decided and have input in making the belt on a main ufc belt template. 
I like the fake diamonds too but it doesn't look like its gonna be shiney and sparkling in the light. 
Hate the flags cause they copied that from the WBC belt or its all the countries ufc have gone to so far in which case its kinda cool 

Wonder what happens with current champions do they get immediate ones or only winners from now on get them?

The middle piece being shaped like an octagon is definitely what throws it off for me.

After seeing the belt on TV, I like it even more.  The UFC is doing a lot of **** I don't particularly care for, but I like what they did with these new belts.

So each fighter only gets 1 belt instead of getting a new belt each defense? Also if Cejudo loses does his belt with his custom plate get wrapped around someone else waist or do they have another belt on standby?

@Hyrm there is no such word as 'writed'.

Written, wrote, write.


Written is the past perfect tense. So what you should have written was 'happy that Reebok is not written on the belt'. You would never say I'm happy that Reebok is not wrote on the belt'. Wrote is the simple past tense, eg 'I wrote a book'. I wrote a book a yesterday, but I've written others. So a general rule is, the more recent something happened, the more likely you are to use simple past tense and not perfect past tense. 'Write' refers to a future event that has not happened ('I may write a book one day'). Unless it's a verb (which refers to an action) eg 'They write on paper'..

Not trying to be an *******, I know English isn't your first language and learning participles as a non-English speaker is a nightmare.

@hyrm u never really lose your actual belt when u lose the championship the new champion gets a new belt.
In boxing the fighters actually have to pay like 800 bucks to keep the belt and take it home. It gets minused from your paycheck along with other fees they have to pay. I imagine its the same in mma.

The center ufc peice is solid gold. Thats pretty cool.
I think the old belt is fake gold or gold plating. 
That's why this one is heavier.
