For the 1-19 event, is the whole event ESPN+ on there or just he main card?

It's kinda annoying but ONLY THE PRELIMS will be on ESPN. The early prelims and the main card will ONLY be seen on ESPN+

Wait, it is the early prelims on ESPN+ then Prelims on ESPN and then Main card on ESPN +? Kind of odd as they have to fit something in between then early prelims and Main card.

The I miss the most is the custom shorts / theme , you can do something about the sticker ads bit I miss those shorts .. marshmallow and chocolate Franklin's.. or honey and black andersons .. who else .."we need uniform because Soviet Russia had uniform"

That's the one thing I hoping for anyway if they can do a "we are all same - this is sport now - ok uniform" look, but man get the custom themes going! Chocolate and marshmallow Rich Franklin's.... come on!

I wonder which fighter /management on the roster now would come up with the beat custom theme for shorts... maybe Team Dagestan with Dagestan flag colour stripes and mountain wolf logo - theme

I think the biggest issue is they will have ESPN+ cards and ESPN cards. My thoughts are the ESPN cards will be overall a bit better. But i can see how an average fan can get confused with this new format. How and when to watch.

I'm also still seeing some outlets call the ESPN+ cards Ufc Fight Night: 143 for ex. Its definitely gonna take some getting use to from the fans, media outlets, etc.

Because ESPN doesn't give the faintest **** about any sport that isn't the NFL or NBA. The UFC is ESPN's side *****. Add on the fact that the "Worldwide Leader in Sports" appears to be in its death throes as it continues to bleed money thanks to them overpaying for broadcasting rights like their Monday Night Football deal and their parent company Disney allegedly looking sell off the network after continuous years in the red, it all points towards this broadcasting deal going about as well as the landing of the Hindenburg.

@Pie2munch all over it. The only thing I don't like is that ESPN+ cards will show prelims on ESPN..but the early prelims & main-card with be on ESPN+...not all that confusing but seems silly to me. Fight Pass cards will still be on Fight Pass and UFC PPV's will still start on Fight Pass.

So unless its a Fight Pass card all UFC prelims will be shown on regular ESPN.

Why have the prelims on ESPN and put the main card on an app that will gain a tenth of the audience in the first place? Like doesn't that just defeat the whole purpose of having this TV deal? The UFC specifically went to ESPN because they were more visible network than Fox Sports 1 and Fox Sports 2, AND YET THEY PUT THE MAIN CARD WITH ALL THE BIG NAME FIGHTS BEHIND A ******* PAY WALL? How exactly are you going to get people to tune in when all the marketable names are on an app that is unproven? Like if they were to do this gradually then I understand, but this is just a suicidal business move.

@GreenHornet pretty sure that’s ESPN/UFC’s way to get you to buy into their streaming service. Give away some prelims for free so they are hungry enough to spend the $5-$10 a month for more. The app itself is fine, I’ve been using it for domestic and international soccer, but I agree I don’t think it’s a sound approach to business.

This is exactly how little they give a **** about us as fans. I quite frankly don’t know how much this will help the UFC, their FOX ratings didn’t indicate people would be knocking down doors to pay for this level of product on a monthly basis.
