Just saw tweets by Max Holloway and Mike Chiesa on my time line referencing a wikipedia entry about this event that said Ferguson and Holloway were headlining with interim LW title

oooh wow, now this is an incredible fight. I reckon Holloway takes it. Max will tag Tony basically at will...hell Pettis put Ferguson on his ass. Tony is tough enough to survive and when Max drops him he won't follow him to the ground, but yeah, I can see a 50-45 Holloway no problem. Tony is a great fighter, but that's a bad fight for him--someone with super crisp boxing who can exploit his porous guard, an iron chin that isn't needed due to excellent evasiveness, great TD and as good or better cardio. I don't think the size will be an issue for Max, he's a big boy and could easily fight at LW.

I don't know, Fergusson put a lot of pressure so even if he get punch in the face a lot, he wont back up and if that goes to the ground, its dead for Holloway! Also not sure if Holloway will keep is power at LW, I see it 48-47or a late finish for Tony!

Holloway is a huge feather weight! I think it was bisping who said holloway walks around normally at almost 180!!! Hope these rumors are true cause I don't care to wait for khabib and his giant ego. I would take tony also.but max is incredibly great at striking much better then pettis so if pettis can hurt tony......

Holloway is a slow starter who pours it on late. Ferguson doesn't slow down or fade but thats not the only way Holloway improves as a fight goes on. His timing improves and he finds more openings. I think Ferguson has to get an early sub if he wants to win this one. Holloway wont play on the ground. Also an expert at being just out of range but Tony has a huge reach advantage here. I will go with max because I think hes a legend in the making and he doesnt make many mistakes in the cage that will allow Tony the moments he needs and I dont think his pace will break max

I dont see a late finish for Tony. There is no evidence to suggest Holloway will fade especially without the tough weight cut

I see this fIght as very hard for Max to win. He's not a KO artist, he has to win by volume and turning the pressure up but that plays directly into Tony's strengths seeing as how he usually starts out slow and has an endless gas tank. Also Ferguson's "unorthodox" style/timing combined with his wrestling pedigree means a much better chance of this fight ending up on the ground at some point. Bottom line is Tony's a finisher who is extremely hard to finish so if the fight ends early, it's almost certainly going to be a Ferguson win. Holloway's best chance would be a decision but Tony won't slow down like the opponents that Max has finished.

Well ufc has been giving and taking interim titles like candy in this new wme era. I think this is number nine now. Not sure how many have been unified but im sure its 50% at best. A champion is a champion. What if rob never comes back? The show must go on.
