Jesus. 41 years old. A man that was a pioneer for the lighter weight class divisions of MMA, a man that was absolute beast and considered the best Featherweight in the world until his career was derailed for a year due to dislocating his elbow in 2007 and a bad knee injury in 2009, a man that one of the biggest combat sports stars in all of Japan and was the centerpiece of K-1 HERO'S, a man who took the legendary K-1 kickboxer Masato Kobayashi to a majority decision, and was one of the few non-UFC fighters at the time that Dana gave glowing praise to and wanted to desperately sign when he was in his prime. Now gone at 41 due to cancer. This is absolutely heartbreaking and soul crushing to hear. RIP KID Yamamoto. You are an absolute legend of the sport and you will truly be missed.

Terrible news. When I first got into MMA he wasn't in the PRIDE or UFC pay per views that I had access to, so all I saw were low quality movie files that I'd download from torrent sites. He was a mythical wrecking machine.
