Yeah I can't wait for this fight should be an awesome one. I'm gonna take Dustin as well by DEC don't know if he can finish Diaz but his boxing is so damn crisp I could see it happening.

This fight is going to be off-the-hook, no way can it be boring between these two. This is a great fight for Dustin win or lose because he's definitely going to make bank off this fight. If he wins however, its going to put him in an even better position. With that said, I see Nate Diaz using his range and length to pepper Dustin with jabs and body shots, wearing him down then sinking in a submission in the later rounds. However, I do want Dustin to win this fight. Usually I'm neutral to whomever may be fighting but this time around I'm rooting for Dustin because he always comes to fight and never fails to put on an exciting performance and he's just inching closer and closer towards a title shot. I would like to see him pull off upset after upset!

I am guessing Dustin will outclass him. He takes his training and preparation more seriously, is the better athlete. But I like the fight!

Would have preferred Ferguson vs Diaz since they have some beef of their own. But this is still an awesome fight. I just don't understand how any of these guys will prepare Poirier for Khabib. He's been fighting nothing but brawlers and strikers. Can't remember the last time Poirier fought a strong wrestler. Eddie is a strong wrestler but he's more incline to strike. Maybe Kevin Lee would have fit that role better and have Ferguson vs Diaz instead.

So you're saying the UFC should base match-making for Dustin on preparing him for Khabib?

@Greg I can't agree that Poirier is the better athlete. From everything I've seen Diaz wins in that category hands down.
Hope he's a decent favorite going into this, because I'm very confident that Diaz is going to win.

Should be a great one, but man is Poirier getting a tough road to the title. Diaz is a bad match up for him.

...And poirier is the favorite, opening at -175. Hope that doesn't change too much in favor of Dustin.
He's a good banger but he has never done well against southies at all. Johnson, Mcgregor.... hell he even struggled with Miller a little bit, really he should have merked Jim. Diaz is a proper southpaw. His boxing is overrated but it's still good, he can take huge amounts of damage, and he is very good at using his range. Really the only thing that favors poirier is that it's a three rounder.

Its def a tough fight for him, I hope he pulls it off but Diaz is so damn durable he probably wont be able to put him away.
Edit - thought it was a 5 rounder!

Three rounds definitely makes this more doable for Poirier.
Poirier will probably look good early, but Diaz' range, durability, and volume striking will wear on him.

They'll probably have him on hold in case Khabib pulls out.
Don't mind it since him vs Conor/Khabib winner is great.

Yeah,it's pretty bad for Ferguson. I'm pretty sure he is still injured though and in recovery. I saw an interview with him pretty recently and he says he'll be ready to fight in another month or so, but he's definitely not in camp and has weight to cut.
I suppose he'll be ready once the dust has settled from Khabib vs Mcgregor/Poirier Diaz. I'm pretty sure that if Mcgregor wins they'll do Conor vs Diaz III for the belt, but if Khabib wins, there's more of a chance he'll get a shot at the strap because that fight has been a pricktease for a long time and a lot of people want to see it.

Apparently Nate Diaz is already withdrawing from the fight as he says "*** the @UFC"

This is why I can't the stand Diaz brothers. There has a never been a pair of fighters with records so bad who are so entitled. Seriously, Nate should be champing at the bit for this fight because he doesn't deserve it, doesn't have a great record, hardly ever fights, it allows him to pass go the guys who would frankly beat the **** out of him, he's never even looked like holding a belt, and a win against poirier sets him up for a shot at the title in another mozza of a payday against Mcgregor (asuming conor wins). There has not ever been, and never will be, an easier path to the crown for him. Put him in there against Lee or Ferguson and he gets mollywhopped.

Well it appears Diaz is pissy owing to a perceived slight on how he feels the UFC are promoting his fight with Poirier.
Dustin doesn't seem to like it either.

^Lol
Poirier is just messing around man, trolling Diaz without him even realizing it. Diaz who knows probably thinks he should fight Mighty Mouse or DC next who knows.
It'll be 27 months since Nate's last fight and he's 3-4 in his last 7.
Poirier is arguably next in line. 8-1 w 1NC since his move to LW.
