    Prediction Comments

    Predictions: 9 of 12 Winners, 3 Perfect, 575 Points   |   Tied for 213th

    Cooper III vs. Kusch
    Pavel Kusch, DEC
50%. Not much footage of Kusch other than his upset win in the last round. Cooper is also coming off an upset finish. A decision win would put either in the playoffs. I expect Kusch to survive some scary encounters with Cooper's power as he grinds out a decision using his length to keep Cooper at a distance.

    Magomedkerimov vs. Velickovic
    Bojan Velickovic, DEC
55%. Close fight. Neither need a finish and I'm expecting a decision. Bojan is savvy in point-fighting and putting on a good display for judges so I'll side with him to outstrike Mamoedkerimov and survive takedown attempts to win a decision.

    Harrison vs. Cotton
    Kayla Harrison, SUB, R1
They're trying to promote Harrison so I assume she wins but didn't research as odds will be off the charts.

    Nurmagomedov vs. Westin
    Abubakar Nurmagomedov, TKO, R2
90% Nurmagomedov was the Favorite for this competition and was upset last time out. He needs a finish and he should be able to get it on the ground within 2 rounds. Westin isn't very skilled but he does have power in his hands so Nurmagomedov will have to be cautious on the feet against a man with nothing to lose.

    Zeferino vs. Villefort
    João Zeferino, DEC
65% Zeferino doesn't need a finish. Villefort needs a finish to make the playoffs. Expect Zeferino to fight conservatively and win a decision.

    Story vs. Minus
    Rick Story, SUB, R2
85%. Story doesn't need a finish to make the playoffs but I think he finds one. His opponent will be fighting with nothing to lose and will come out swinging. Story's experience should lead this to the ground where he'll control the fight.

    Shields vs. Terrado
    Jake Shields, SUB, R1
75%. Shields is a legend and needs a finish to make the playoffs after losing his last fight. Normally, I'd be 95% Shields here but he's coming off a knockout loss just a month ago so his chin will be touchy.

Can't believe they stacked the undercard the way they did. Any combination of Gordon, Taylor, Howard, Shields, and Story could have boosted the cable numbers a bit.

Eddie Gordon makes me so sad, like what the hell happened? Did Josh Samman just change his life with that head kick or what?

Have to say, I've been thoroughly enjoying the PFL product. I like the format (though 2/3 of the fighters making it to the Playoffs reduces tension,) and the pacing is quite strong.

Obviously a larger roster presents its own challenges, but I wouldn't mind seeing the divisional pools increased to 14 fighters in Season 2. Lot of these guys are feeling mighty secure in a playoff spot after their first win.
