I see "The Damage" NOT doing a whole buncha damage, but I do see him grinding out a decision win here

Ferreira vs. Breese
Tom Breese, TKO, R2
Tom Breese is another one of them fan friendly fighters, and I'm still kinda surprised that there's some ppl out there, that dnt know about him.. maybe I guess outta inactivity.. But I like this fight for Breese..

Magny is a weird fighter; not really amazing anywhere, looks like he should be riding around on a bicycle handing out pamphlets with Jesus feeding baby deer from a bottle of milk on the cover, but somehow manages to be really competitive, not get finished often and pull off the occasional upset.

Ponzi should just bust him to bits, but I think he survives, even takes a round, and loses 29-28.

Lamas is the pick based on better fundamentals. As always, Darren Elkins's chance cannot be glossed over. It's just not something I would bet on consecutively.

Rountree vs. Walker
Khalil Rountree, TKO, R1
If Rountree fought methodically like he did Saki, he should have little to no trouble picking Walker apart on the feet.

Despite the experience gap between the two, both are equally likely to knock each other out imho. Has a lot to do with Cezar's tendency to overextend his rear hand more than Ian's accomplishments, really.

Elkins vs Lamas

I'm surprised so many people are picking Lamas. Lamas has historically had a hard time against people with a relentless, wrestling-heavy offense, and Elkins is one of the best examples of that at 145. I think Lamas is going to get grinded out here.

Pantoja vs. Sasaki
Alexandre Pantoja, SUB, R2
his is a fun fight. Here is how I see it so far. (Pinned for reference) Sasaki has a very long frame, with some improving MT striking and obviously has a slick back take RNC game. All of his submission wins are from rear naked choke, so we know he has a pretty defined path to victory on the mat, and isn't a diverse submission threat who can transition to different subs etc. He is a bit slow on the feet and his striking lacks layers. If you close the distance on him he kinda freezes up like he doesn't have an answer for it. His clinch game is strong on the fence, and he likes to dive on singles. Vs. Lausa, a boxer, he showed his complete lack of comfort on the feet and was level changing every single chance he got. Barely accepted any time on the feet. It played out to his advantage, but I think it shows where he is really at with his striking. Pantoja is a really explosive guy. He is a MUCH better boxer than Sasaki, like a lot better. He is also a lot faster. He can cover distance quick and loves a brawl, but he also has really good BJJ. In the Moreno fight, he beat the **** out of Moreno. Had him extremely close to a finish, credit to Moreno for toughness, but it showed how across a 3 round fight he can sustain this savage pursuit of blood and the finish. He also doesn't accept bottom position. In the Shelton fight, his striking forced Shelton to shoot every chance he got, and he was able to take Pantoja down but for a few seconds tops before Pantoja athletically posted and got to his feet. He didn't really have Pantoja in any trouble grappling wise, and Pantoja event took his back and came very close to an RNC In all Pantoja's fights he is really pursuing the finish, a few small adjusments and all his UFC wins would be finishes. The real question for me in this fight is whether Sasaki can slow the fight with his grappling. Can he frustrate the fight by constantly shooting and slow it down. The answer for me is no. And the reason is because he is too slow to get in on Pantoja's legs easily in open space. If you believe he will have such an advantage in the clinch that all he needs to do is clinch and run Pantoja to the fence, then ok. But I don't, and I don't think he's quick enough to shoot and get a TD in open space vs. Pantoja. This is where his long frame will come at a disadvantage because he is so long he can't change levels like a Shelton. I think there is quite a good chance Pantoja gets the finish. We have seen in the Scoggins fight that Sasaki's chin isn't anything legendary, so I can see G n' P finish, but I can also see Pantoja getting a RNC.

Predictions: 8 of 12 Winners, 2 Perfect, 520 Points   |   Tied for 197th

Magny vs. Ponzinibbio
Santiago Ponzinibbio, TKO, R3
The difference between Neil and a lot of Ponz' opponents that he decisioned is they moved like Ponz did, and Magny is more static. I think Magny being more static will allow Ponz to work his movement and bang in the kicks + time his entries better than when the other guy is moving too. Magny will be showing the jab and maybe trying to clinch and TD, but Ponz is just too much. Crumbles after the leg is worn down.

Lamas vs. Elkins
Ricardo Lamas, DEC
Every time you count him out... Lamas is just too technical. He has the wrestling, the cardio, the heart. He is a top dog in that sense. Had a few tough losses but he has all the attributes you need to ensure you don't lose to a guy like Elkins. Elkins path to victory is to grind on him and stall out time on the cage. but I think Lamas is simply too good. He will have too many moments of control and Elkins will be looking sloppy as ever. love the damage, but Lamas ftw.

Rountree vs. Walker
Johnny Walker, TKO, R2
This either ends in an early KO for Roundtree or Walker by many different sloppy ways. Roundtree is more composed in his striking guard but his punching technique is very poor, and this is masked by some of his finishes. He also gasses remarkably fast. Walker is a long guy without much of a striking guard, and can lead with his chin. The reason I think he wins this fight is that I think he is the far better conditioned athlete, and he has more familiarity with ground fighting. I expect to see a sloppy first round that he doesn't die in, and a second round where he holds a cardio advantage and continues to push the pace, where Khalil looks for breaks and begins to slow. Swarm KO.

Ferreira vs. Heinisch
Cezar Ferreira, SUB, R1
This is purely about Cezar's chin. Does Heinisch land a big overhand right and sleep Cezar or does Cezar be himself and school this guy with takedowns and composed technique? Nothing much about Heinisch impresses me, he has the bouncy movement but to me its pointless, just bouncing to set up his explosive charge in. He throws dumb overhand rights on repeat, with his eyes closed hoping it connects. He is powerful only because of how he choses to throw, rather than any special power or technique he possesses. I don't see much in the wrestling department either. Some athletic moves but no depth to his technique. I think Cezar holds at range, Heinisch charges in and it winds up in a clinch rather than a KO. Cezar reverses and gets the TD. Ends in head and arm choke.

Vera vs. Cannetti
Marlon Vera, SUB, R2
Guido is a very explosive guy, but he throws so little, and rarely KO's people. He could catch Vera, but if Lineker couldn't finish Vera how am I going to expect Cannetti to? It's tough to have Vera as this big of a favorite, but he has the more well rounded technique with good volume. Cannetti relies on his explosiveness to get out of submission attempts and bad grappling positions, and this is what I think does him in here. It cost him vs. Kang and it almost cost him vs. Rivas if he wasn't so basic. Cannetti has an explosive first round that Vera survives, probably charges in the 2nd > clinch > he gets a TD > vera gets an armbar that Cannetti tries to power out of and ****s himself.

Botelho vs. Calvillo
Cynthia Calvillo, DEC
Calvillo looked like **** on the scale, but I think as a +140 underdog she is a very good pick here. can see Cynthia winning by being more active on the feet that Pearl was, but having the clinch as a safe spot to run her into. decent chance she gets a takedown. I originally overrated Botelho's striking, but if you watch the Pearl fight its really pretty basic. Her form isn't great and she doesn't have great footwork. It's very focussed on power and bullying. Cynthia's terrible weight cut does make me worry that if she is forced to work hard early she might slow more than Botelho. But I am going to have to side with calvillo. Little more active on the feet, has the clinch to stall and if she gets it to the ground she will have a decided advantage. Wins a decision via more technique and scoring. Nothing impressive.

Prazeres vs. Fabiński
Bartosz Fabiński, DEC
Tough one. Fabinski by getting some top position and HODLing.

Arnett vs. Bandenay
Austin Arnett, TKO, R2
Arnett is a very frustrating fighter, and isn't good. That being said, Humberto is basic as all hell with a silly boxing and left kick game. Maybe he out volumes Arnett who puts on a trademark did nothing but complained like the other guy wasn't fighting performance, but I think he gets a bit more aggressive here and exposes Bandenay as a regional spam artist. So hard to trust a guy like Arnett who really doesn't seem to have a game. No real power, throws sporadic 1-2's but I just think he is more technical and his composure will allow him to find openings that Bandenay's recklessness presents.

Aldana vs. Staropoli
Hector Aldana, TKO, R2
Mo' power, mo' better

Powell vs. Pinedo
Devin Powell, SUB, R3
Devi "the Junkyard Dog" Powell. I see nothing special from Pinedo in terms of technique, and I think Powell has the durability to take a few shots and give a few early, testing Pinedo's gas tank and heart. He makes the fight ugly and doesn't get finished. Utilises his grappling in the second, continues to scrap and wins on the cards or submits an exhausted Pinedo.

Narimani vs. dos Santos
Nad Narimani, DEC
Grinding kinda guy. Knows how to win and unless he gets finished with something crazy, he will grind on through to a sub or dec.
