Oof. Tough loss for Villante in order to lose to an ex Middleweight, even though Sam Alvey is a talented fighter. I assume Gian is going to be looking for employment outside of Zuffa possibly soon.

We do need more weight classes. A 10lb difference for a 125lb fighter to 135 is an insane size difference when fighting/grappling. Not gonna happen for a while though.

Also, Alvey has fought at WW at one point. He was far too weak to stop a takedown. I like Alvey though. It was a solid scrap. I still scored it against him though.

It is embarrassing, at least to me, because Villante has about 20 pounds on him possibly and shouldn't be getting dropped by Alvey. I feel like Villante is a story of wasted potential. Guy has the ability but he doesn't seem to apply himself.
