I understand why people would assume GSP should be in the top slot. He has dominated recently, put up impressive as well.

Anderson Silva, is a monster. He has an incredible winning streak, and even with the shaky performance agains Chael, he pulled out a win. You should not bump GSP above him for beating Kosheck. I think GSP will be top five MMA fighters ever but he is not number one in this day and age.

That being said. Fedor should be much higher, and Aldo slightly lower. I know Aldo is a monster and the future King of any weight divison he can get his hands on.. but right now he has not faced competition except for perhaps Faber, and Brown near his level. Fedor, has lost one fluke of a fight in any recent memory. I bet without looking it up you could not name the other man whom had beaten him. After he dominates his competition then I belive he will rretire as one of the best.

I wasn't referring to quarter mile times, top speed. I'm not basing it on potential either,  I'm basing it on fighting skills. If Jones loses, his skills aren't what I thought and I'll lower him. Chuck Norris has tons of wins, Bruce Lee has none, Bruce would still be higher on the list. Jones is easily the best lhw right now, if I'm wrong I'm wrong. Shogun has had 2 losses in the UFC recently-ish, Bones will never be in that situation, because he's the no.3 P4P fighter in the world. :)

Tonight's the night, folks.  If Bones wins impressively, he's likely moving up to my #5 spot, with Cruz sliding up to #4.  If Shogun wins, he's got a chance to move up to #3, but either guy will have to look damn good to get ahead of the incredible Aldo.

Yeah Greg same here.  If he does to Shogun anything close to what I've imagine him doing, he'll be taking Fitch's #5 spot while Shogun slips out of my top 10.

If Jones wins he will probably slide into my #5 slot, Shogun will probably drop all the way to 10 and Rashad will be forced out.

Wow, I just noticed that Anderson has taken the lead in the consensus p4p.

I actually enjoy looking at other people's P4P ranking just to see how opinions differ and some hold fighters in higher regard than others.

I know it's a far stretch, but looking at what Randy has done in his career between two different weight classes, and continues to do at nearly 50 years of age..... i had to include him in my top 10 P4P

I base my rankings on how I think potential fights would go. It's why Bones is so high and Anderson isn't top 5.

I guess there isn't a way to not repost my rankings but on the latest episode of MMA Connected Showdown Joe (you guys must know him by now don't you?) had Hatsu Hioki as his #10 P4P I realize everyone has his opinion and I respect his very much but I thought that was a real head scratcher
his full list  Georges St Pierre Anderson Silva Jon Jones Jose Aldo Mauricio Rua Frankie Edgar BJ Penn Jake Shields Jon Fitch Hatsu Hioki

I'm not even getting involved in this argument. Everybody who knows me, knows how I feel about certain fighters, and where they should be ranked.

p4p ratings are just a matter of opinion. Very rarely are they ever based on fact.

Perception is in the eyes of the beholder.
