Hey guys I just re-bought this today and been playing. Wondering if anyone else has it on 360 and wants to play online, or just what those who played it think of it compared to UFC Undisputed.
Personally I think the stand-up is basic, but I prefer it instead of on the UFC game where you just throw special punches the whole time. The actual Flash KO's and just dropping people are 10X better than UFC's because every fight in Undisputed ends with a one-punch KO, and that rarely happens IRL. The submission system is much better also imo, you can battle for like 45 seconds, in Undisputed it's a sub or not.
The new UFC 2012 though looks like they've taken gameplay ideas from EA MMA and added in the new game like the new submission system, the PRIDE mode, etc.

I liked it better than UFC. Playing in Japan was the best part for me. Grappling is very basic, but the striking was fun as hell, in my opinion. Also, I had like a 60-5 record online, so basically I'm the goat of EA MMA.

I think Undisputed is better than EA MMA. The stand-up in that game is kind of a joke, 4 punches and I'm gassed? I certainly hope not! The ground game isn't too great either, just the A button, boring. But Undisputed plays more like a fighting game in the sense that it lets you have more stand up options with quicker punches and knockouts, and the ground is generally smoother.

The UFC game has much more detail with all the moves and stand-up I'll give it that, but MMA's stand-up is much smoother and alot cooler with the knockdown and KO's.

Also, you can't jab in UFC. Playing as Struve is pointless because if you throw a jab, they can just throw a lunging hook and the jab has no stopping power, and you can't move while throwing it. EA MMA is much better at little things like that.
Also, I loved how the fights are full length in EA MMA. 15 minute wars are awesome.

I agree mino, I guarantee you go to everyone's UFC records and they have less than 10 decisions ever.

There were ways in the UFC game to keep yourself from getting knocked out all the time, but in EA MMA if you let your cardio go down, (usually happens after about 4-6 punches) there is almost no recovering. Not to mention the fighters in the UFC game are much better. The only positives in MMA are the training camps and the head stomps, and after awhile, even those get boring.

The training camps the best part? I can see why you didn't like it much then.

Any Fight Night fans here. I played EA MMA a bit but didn't get too into it because I kinda sucked. Still like to play fight night once in a while, mostly playing NHL 12 now though.

I was a big fan of Undisputed 2009, was never much of a Fight Night fan, and was underwhelmed by the demo so I figured I'd pas on EA MMA.
After being colossally disappointed by 2010 and EA MMA dropped to $20 I figured I'd pick it up and was pleasantly surprised. I found the striking, sub system, and career mode to be much better that THQ's title.
I still pick it up and play it about once a week.

EA MMA was a great game, I loved it. Up until they put out that patch that totally wrecked the stamina. Now i play UFC 2010 online. I enjoy the striking in that game. Much more diverse.

I liked MMA way better, because at least in that game there's a chance the fight can go out past the first round. Undisputed you just mashed buttons until somebody got KO'd. And it happened fast.

It beats button mashing, and fighter stats that make no sense.
