Yeah, was kinda hoping Dern would stay in Invicta longer. That signing seems a little pointless now. Yoder should be a pretty easy fight for her anyway.

For those who enjoy grappling this should be an interesting first matchup in the UFC.
Strawweight is the deepest women's division in the UFC at the moment so there will be plenty of options for them to develop Dern slowly.
The UFC have signed most of the Invicta Strawweight roster recently anyway, either from TUF23 (Cooper, Aldrich, Yoder, Moyle) or outright (Grasso, Hill, Souza, Esquibel).
Even though Invicta are always adding new talent, outside of Inoue (who is injured) if Dern stayed in Invicta who would she fight that is a step up from Medeiros?

When you look at the grappling and see Yoder in her profile pic with a medal from the IBJJF that reads NOVICE and Dern has multiple medals that say BJJ World ******* Champion I don't know how interesting the grappling will be.

Yoder can win this by staying on the outside, using the leg kicks and avoiding the overhand right from Dern. That being said, they don't call her the spider monkey because she stays on the outside. I fear she will initiate something ill-advised and lose. Or it goes to decision and Dern wins because public interest ah la sage northcutt.

Would love to see Dern fight Polyana Viana at some point. See who has the better BJJ game in MMA. Have to give this one to Dern though. If Yoder was more disciplined and didn't turn into a complete mess while playing into her opponents style in every fight I'd say she has a decent chance with her stand up, but she'll probably be winning and then dive in a clinch only to have her back taken and get submitted.
