2018 Prospect Grand Prix Draft

Rules of the draft:
-It will be a snake style draft -you will draft 5 prospects to your team -Every weight class is available -anyone outside the UFC is available but current and former Bellator champions aren't available. -With that above being said, if you choose a fighter that goes on to win the Bellator title you will receive a 10 point bonus and be forced to drop and take someone else. -TUF fighters are allowed to picked but you won't be awarded points for their wins through the house. -you have 8 hours to make your draft pick -if you are to miss your pick, you will have to wait till it comes back around to you and you will make 2 picks. If you were to miss 3 picks in a row I will remove you from the game.

Another thing to know about the draft is you won't earn any points until January 1st and while drafting if one of your prospects you picked gets signed, at the end of the draft you will pick a replacement but you wont earn points if someone was to sign

I'm not sure if that's a good rule. If we want an exclusion period to ensure that the game technically starts for the new year, then the best way to make that happen was to start the draft on Jan 1st. With this rule, however, we now have to hope that our prospects don't get signed within an arbitrary 10 day window; what should be a happy moment gets turned into the bitterest of disappointment, only because one of our picks got signed a few days too early?

This rule would also penalize people that are conscientious and try to make their picks as quickly as possible. Instead, we now have a perverse incentive to delay and take as long as possible to make our picks, since that would reduce the chances of having our picks getting hit by this exclusion period.

I look for this to move fast as most people on here I follow on twitter. This is a 2018 GP so you shouldn't receive any points if someone is signed in December and I don't wanna start it in January cause that's wasting time

My first pick is former UFC Flyweight title contender Kyoji Horiguchi.

@GreenHornet, why exactly take Horiguchi? do you think he just racks up the points or do you see him back in the UFC this year?

Having a high draft pick potentially dropping to, essentially, a bottom of the last round pick is a pretty unfair penalty for people who make picks that happen to get signed a few days earlier.

I would've preferred to be drafting later on anyways; this additional possible penalty just makes it that much worse to go earlier in the draft order.

Shawn made it clear it was a snake draft. Nothing unfair about it. 

@UltimatelyMMA But the GP ends before 2017 does, so Hornet won't get those 15 points.

It's the penalty that's unfair; this rule was just implemented today, with no prior warning.
