Brooks vs. Alcantra

Decision to the better of the two up-and-comers on the night, Jarred Brooks.

Intriguing matchup - not very confident pick is Alcantra, because he produced more finishes recently. I don`t think he can put away The Monkey God though, maybe a split decision.

brooks really didn't do much against shelton, i thought he lost. not expecting much volume this time either.

Never a fan of putting undefeated prospects against each other in a shallow division.

Brooks was lucky to get the D against Shelton, think he's a ways off from being a serious contender in the division either way.

DrGlaze, I agree.

The winner will probably fight a top 5 guy after that and if he win, will feed the mousse. 

According to their respective first UFC fight, its hard not to favor Deveison Alcantra. Brooks was facing a tougher competition, but certainly not deliver.

This card is full of close matchups if you ask me and this is certainly one of them. Mainly because we don't really know much about either of these guys in the UFC yet. I went with Brooks by decision. If he sticks with a wrestling heavy attack I think he can control Alcantra on the ground.  He's likely the lighter fighter in most of these flyweight fights having also fought at strawweight, hopefully he uses his speed in exchanges as well as in his takedowns to keep the fight where he wants it. Shelton was a tough first fight for Brooks and I think we will see a better showing here.
