With all these new fights being put together for the FOX card (Henderson/Guida, and now, Franklin vs. Ortiz), it's just a matter ov time before they announce that it's gonna be extended to TWO hours....?

(Maybe even THREE hours....?)

Is it confirmed though? I know they have been working on the fight for a bit... I just didn't know if it was confirmed. If it is... I'm taking Franklin as well as @xbass.

I heard on tv that its 1 hour and the only way another fight will be shown is if the lesnar fight ends quick, looks like fox doesnt have too much faith yet in the ufc, they want promo then fight for 1 hour, so far i like spike better but well see.

From what I've read, I'd be very surprised if they switched the special from 1 hour to 2. It sounds like they want to focus very heavily on setting up the main event, explaining the sport of MMA to all the new fans, etc.

IMO Thats all we need a bunch of nebies that know nothing bout mma getting taught by some a channel that knows nothing bout it( unless they bring in an expert like bas rutten or dana or someone on them lines) still dont think they would understand it completely like what MMA is they pry gonna say **** like y all the rolling on the floor this fighter is boring he dont know what hes doin all they gonna wanna see is KO's not all there is bout MMA. anyone agree?

@sirmak the UFC and Fox will be working together very closely. The UFC controls the entire production of the 1 hour show. So no, I don't think you need to worry about this. This is going to be slick.

@trevpicks I think it's totally incorrect to say Fox doesn't have faith in the UFC. They're designing this first event this way on purpose. They want to have a single big fight that they properly hype up.

Fox signed a 7-year long $90 million dollar a year deal with the UFC. They are making a HUGE investment in the UFC and obviously have a ton of faith.

At the moment Fox wont risk anything more then 60 mins of air time on this first ufc event which for fight fans is a joke, they must be worried about ratings for sure is what i meant. Anyone know where the other fights on this card will be shown?

Don't forget... Manny has a boxing match the same night, anymore then an hour and you risk running into that time slot. Why waste money when people will be going out/paying for the ppv to watch Pacman destroy another opponent?

I think Frankling will beat Ortiz, but I'd like to see Ortiz win. I don't know why, but I'd like to see Tito get another win before his career is completely over with. I like both Henderson and Guida, but I think Bendo takes it.
