This cast sucks, hardly any ranked 125ers, it should be called the Honchak and Roxanne season. For a belt they have cans with 2-1 and 3-2 records, not one prospect, but lots of Invicta fails. Other talent would be Deanna Bennett, Sajira Eubanks and Lauren Murphy but not much else.

Also, hardly any small 135ers or big 115ers picked that are already on the UFC roster. Instead of picking Jojo or Macedo for example they pick a girl who got beat by Macedo, or instead of getting Andrea Lee they pick a girl who got destroyed by Lee. Pointless season without top talent for an inaugural belt.

Yeah, don't know what exactly the deal was here but it's kind of ridiculous. So many fighters that are 2-2, 3-2, 4-3, or otherwise middling records. Modafferi and Honchak(if you ignore the inactivity) are the only top 10s in 125 on this. Won't be surprised if tournament winner loses the title immediately again.

Bellator got the jump on signing several top women's flyweight talent. TUF 26 could've been great with fighters like Ilima-Lei Macfarlane & Emily Ducote, while Valerie Letourneau, Katie Collins and Rebecca Ruth could've been nice supplements to the roster. Bellator also scooped up several legitimate or marketable foreign prospects like Na Liang, Alejandra Lara, & Juliana Velasquez. That's not even mentioning the other women's flyweights signed by Bellator primarily due to their marketbility.

Not the most impressive cast but there's some umm interesting ones in there despite them not having tons of potential.Like bjj beast Eubanks and Lauren Murphy will be a monster at 125 and if the weight cut doesn't hurt her bad I think she'll win the whole thing depending on how Honchak looks with 3 years off,37 years old and it seemed like she kind of just moved on then this opportunity?Or injuries? Either way bad recipe for success.

I'll be doing the old skip to the fight thing I always do on TUF but i'll still watch the fights.Hopefully Roxanne pulls it off that would be a great comeback story and she really has improved a ton.

Honchack is the clear favorite to win the show.
(pro record) (combine record of opponents they beat)

Ariel Beck (4-4) (8-8)
DeAnna Bennett (8-3) (41-19-2)
Shana Dobson (2-1) (0-0)
Sijara Eubanks (2-2) (0-0)
Melinda Fabian (4-3-1) (0-3)
Karine Gevorgyan (3-2) (2-0)
Barb Honchak (10-2) (77-26-2)
Christina Marks (8-8) (11-6)
Roxanne Modafferi (21-13) (136-47)
Nicco Montano (3-2) (3-2)
Lauren Murphy (9-3) (25-16)
Rachel Ostovich-Berdon (3-3) (6-3)
Gillian Robertson (3-2) (6-5)
Maia Stevenson (6-4) (0-13)
Montana Stewart  (7-4) (9-14)
Emily Whitmire (2-1) (2-7)

So most the girls have trash records against weak competition the favorite is clearlt Honchack followed by Modaferri. Then of course Murphy and Bennett would be the dark horses with the rest being astronomical long shots. I'm surprised they didn't try to get Eye in there.

They're complaining about women's featherweight while putting this on?

With a better look at this, the UFC dropped the ball and dragged their feet with rolling out women's flyweight.  They could have brought in so much talent outside of Honchak, Modaferri, Bennett, and Murphy like Angela Lee, Angnieszka Niedwiedz, Isabelly Varela, Brogan Walker, Julia Berezikova, and Mara Borella.  Plus, had they done it sooner they could have stolen talent like Ilima Macfarlane and Emily Ducote from Bellator.  But nope, the UFC just had to botch this as bad as they botched Men's Flyweight.  Oh well, at least the silver lining we can get from this tourney will be that Joanna Jedrzejczyk gets the chance to be the second fighter and first female fighter to hold two UFC belts simultaneously.

I do believe UFC has quite a few women on the roster fighting at 135 and 115 that will move to 125 as soon as the season is complete. Unfortunately they didn't put any of them other than Murphy on the show.

@Confusion, Brooke Mayo too (she just beat the crap out of Illima-Lei in combat grappling in the last EBI), tough, well-rounded prospect also scooped up by Bellator.

And of course there's Anastasia Yankova, who even though gets a lot of slack for basically always fighting at 130 yet calling herself a flyweight, but she's super marketable and is pretty skilled too.

Well at least I am excited for the new division.

I would mention Namajunas was only 2-1 (4-1) when she entered TUF20.

I would have thought that the current UFC fighters who have campaigned for the flyweight division would have shown more support.

Under or over 5.5? The number of fighters from TUF26 that get signed by UFC after the show?

The UFC does have 2 interesting prospects stashed away: Poliana Botelho & Nadia Kassem. Botelho is probably a Top 10, 15 at worst, fighter at flyweight - she just hasn't fought in a long time. I'm a bit surprised that they didn't ask Nadia Kassem to join, as she's a young, undefeated Aussie that the UFC could've pushed a bit on TUF as an up-and-coming prospect; maybe she's injured, or maybe she's insistent on trying to fight at straw.

I like Honchak, Murphy and Bennett to win the show.

Just depends on how Barb handles the layoff, and Murphy making the consistent cut for the show. And Bennett had showed some signs of weight cutting issues so 125 my benefit her. I'd consider her somewhat of a darkhorse underdog, if you think she fits that criteria.

I guess the point of this season is to give Joanna two belts. I think she beats Honchak or whoever.

I think as long as they don't meet each other along the way, the final four will be Honchak, Murphy, Bennett and Modafferi, easily. If someone else defeats one of them, I think they're instantly a prospect to watch.

Most of the fighters I see people mentioning that should have been put on the show fall under the following:

1. Didn't want to be on the show. Either they're already in the UFC and will move up/down later, or they're outside the UFC, and expressed interest in getting signed outside the show.

2. Couldn't make it to the tryouts.

3. Other (language barrier, already signed elsewhere, etc.

Most are unknowns, but the name fighters on the cast  are name fighters for a reason. I'll at least watch the show before dismissing them all, and I'd hardly call this the UFC dropping the ball, as most fighters who have shown interest are already signed with them.
