I don't that makes much sense at all. Maybe Maryna vs Aguilar or Aldrich.

If the Eddie Alvarez vs Poirier rematch doesn't happen I'd like to see Lee vs Alvarez. I think Alvarez is rounded enough to give Lee a loss.

I usually cheer for my local fighters but I'm not a fan of Lee. I wouldn't mind if they threw him in with the worse possible matchup. He just cracked the top 10 and he's calling for Khabib and Ferguson. He's not there yet. Lee getting Ko'd by Santos is still fresh on my mind. I'm surprised Ferguson didn't mention that when Lee brought up him fighting Lando. That would've been great!

I like chiesa but I don't see him beating anyone above him or many of the top 15 so it's hard to put him against anyone. Personally I think someone like duffy would be interesting if UFC sorted his contract out. As for Lee I would like to see him against a striker with solid takedown defence so he can actually prove how good his boxing apparently is. He seems to get hit clean way to often and his striking isn't where he or most people seem to think it is. Maybe I'm wrong but I think he has a suspect chin. If he can't take someone down then what happens. As for the rest of the card I'm not one to skip the prelims but I cant pick many matchups as a lot of them aren't very interesting fighters this card really is awful in terms of rankings and people to watch out for since a lot before yesterday were close to 1 loss from being dropped and some probably still are

Martin vs felder
Koch vs chase loser gets dropped

Esparza vs gadelha is a big no she has nowhere to win that fight it would be cruel, anyway we're waiting for gadelha vs Andrade before half the division disappears to 125

I think 205 is shallow enough to where Stansbury and Christensen COULD both get another shot, Stansbury at least.

Maybe the UFC could match them up against each other, and then cut the loser of that fight.

It's funny as LHW used to be ONE OF THE DEEPER DIVISIONS.

That's not true. It became the UFC glamor division because of dominance, personalities and rivalries. When the LHW division was at its peak, there were three guys holding it up.

The UFC LHW division used to be propped up by Chuck, Tito, and Randy the three were just all quite popular. But for a while there when UFC first absorbed Pride it had Chuck, Randy, Rampage, Shogun, Evans, Griffin, Machida, Nogueira, W. Silva, then the new guys came in like Jones, Davis, Gustaffson, and Bader. For that brief moment in time before Jones went and decimated the LHW division it looked very stacked. Now all the former Pride guys are old and retired same goes for the UFC names of old. Now the division is Jones who keeps getting in trouble, Cormier, Gustaffson, and Manowa. Texeira is still in the mix but is getting ol, same goes for Shogun. Just now a few young guys are making their name and starting to look like they can contend. Up until now most the young contenders looked mediocre.

@unbeknownst That's sort of true if you're only looking at the UFC.

The UFC had Chuck, Tito and Randy, but also Babalu and Vitor. By 2005, Forrest, Rashad, Bonnar and Jardine were there too.

At the same time, Pride had Shogun, Hendo, Lil Nog, Arona, Rampage, Overeem, Wanderlei... all more or less in their primes.

In 2007, Pride folded and a lot of the 2 divisions came together in the UFC.  You can also throw Machida in the conversation at this point.

Then in 2009 Jon Jones showed up and ****** up the party.

At one time, LHW was deep enough to be the best division in 2 promotions. It has definitely gotten relatively shallow over the years.

205 has some good up and comers right now. The division as a whole has been more active lately, which is a good thing: The UFC needs to do here what they did at heavyweight though. Sign young prospects, older guys on a win streak, and middle tier guys with decent records. Beef up the division and eventually you'll get some younger guys who are impressing (Like N'Gannou, Tybura,Blaydes).

@AnAlias:

If the UFC had all those guys in their prime, during that time, it might have been a different story. Rampage beating Chuck for the UFC title kind of changed things and the belt started being passed around like the classroom pet.

Having guys like Forrest, Bonner and Jardine doesn't make your division deep at any point. During that time, A.Silva could have gone up in weight and cleaned house until Jones arrived.
