You're not alone. Everyone I've talked to has had that epiphany long after the fact. I know Luke Rockhold is having that epiphany right now and during every single moment for the rest of his life.
I mean we've had rising contenders where many predicted to be future champions: Jones, GSP, McGregor. But in 2012 after a 3-5 record in Strikeforce, who the **** thought Robbie Lawler would be the UFC Champion besides me? Who the **** predicted Serra, Dillashaw, and the aforementioned Count Larry besides me? After a 4-4 UFC record, who the **** is Rafael dos Anjos?
Even someone who's always been considered elite like Eddie Alvarez. After his UFC debut loss to Cerrone, who the **** predicted him besides me?
So my question to you all is who the **** do you think will unexpectedly be UFC champion and why is it Volkan Oezdemir?
He's only fought twice in the UFC and he's already the #4 contender in the deepest division. To be honest, I don't know anything about Oezdemir. Forgot what he looks like. Had to google who beat OSP and that one guy to remember his name. Probably will forget his name tomorrow. All I do know about him is that he will someday be the reigning, defending, undisputed UFC Light Heavyweight Champion of the World.
The Prophecy says that Volkan Oezdemir will outknock Manuwa, outstrike Gus, outwrestle DC, and outpoke Jones.
Volkan Oezdemir.
Remember the name.
I'll try.
