‘Bigfoot' Silva back on TRT for Vitaly Minakov fight in Russia

http://www.mmafighting.com/platform/amp/2017/5/5/15557038/bigfoot-silva-back-on-trt-for-vitaly-minakov-fight-in-russia-mma

According to the article, the only time Silva used TRT before was in his first fight against Mark Hunt, and he tested positive for elevated levels of testosterone in that fight.

This may be something really interesting that could play  a factor in the outcome of the fight. If I recall correctly his draw with Hunt was the last time his chin was able to take big shots from Hunt, in fact, he  took monstrous shots from Mark and kept fighting. By the way, I scored that fight as a win for Bigfoot.

TRT or not Minakov should still beat him.

I don't see the TRT making much of a difference in how this fight will play out. Minakov is way too good.

Minakov would be a welcome addition to the UFC for sure.

I once saw Fedor get rocked like that by Fujita as well. They both still managed to win their fights. Silva is a slow plodding HW and maybe if he spikes his test of the charts he can make it bacl to average.

In my opinion, Minakov has gained some weight and is not looking in the best form.

So you are saying we shouldn't care who wins because Minikov is getting fat and slow and that lumbering over the hill glass chin Silva can maybe if he is lucky can catch fat slow Minikiov if he is allowed to freely use steroids. Or we should find this fight competitive because Minikov is getting fat and slow and that lumbering over the hill glass chin Silva can maybe if he is lucky can catch fat slow Minikiov if he is allowed to freely use steroids?

TRT Bigfoot could do some damage but even at this stage his chin has a lot of miles and TRT probably won't save his chin anymore. The loss of TRT definitely made him worse, and I'm pretty sure his TRT was prescribed wasn't it? The UFC just banned it afterwards for some reason.

@Bigj383 I think Minakov will win. I just think that if Minakov comes underprepared, he could face some adversity and I am just pointing out some facts that may play a factor in the fight. Such as Bigfoot being back on TRT, Vitaly getting his chin cracked in his last fight and not looking in the best shape. I also think you are underappreciating Bigfoot skillset a lot here. Yes, he is not the fastest. However, he is far from lumbering and plodding.

Makes this fight more interesting but Bigfoot's had his head bashed in so many times since the Hunt fight even TRT might not help him if he gets hit.

I could see this fight going the distance, Bigfoot did display a way better chin last time around against that Roided out Russian.

I know Minakov is a pretty good fighter, but I literally don't ever care to see him again after that Kongo fight. That was just downright dreadful.I don't care to see Bigfoot either, and lol at steroids making some huge difference when he was likely on roids the last 10+ years. Are people really that ignorant?Almost everyone is on PED's.Him not getting ko'd by Hunt was crazy but pointing to Ped's as the reason for him having a much better chin is just silly, but that's just my opinion.

Kongo has terribly boring fights with a ton of people, not sure you can blame that on Minakov too much.

Also Bigfoot probably wasn't on nearly as much if he was after the TRT ban and USADA, and going from a 5 round war with Hunt to getting annihilated by everyone he fought standing was pretty jarring.

Bigfoots chin has always been suspect. His fight with Eric Pele about 10 years ago was the start of it.

I think the DC fight was what cracked it, first time he was put out. The Pele fight was a hella early stoppage.

I disagree. He may have not been out but he dropped pretty quick. It was a fight he was winning, too.

Bigfoot weighed in at 130 kilos to Minakov's 122.1 kilos. Interested in the fact of not cutting weight plays a factor for Bigfoot here.
