One has to wonder if Lobov would be fighting Swanson in this main event if he wasn't McGegor's stable mate. Plenty of other fighters would have made for a better event. Barao, Hall, Fili? No disrespect to Swanson but Ortiz-Moreno is the contest that should be at the top of this card.

How so? Swanson alone is a more recognizable name than Ortiz and Moreno combined. You really think that a fight between Flyweight prospects would do better ratings than a Cub Swanson fight?

It's the main event for Cub's name value alone, Artem is just the guy they put in because he'll most likely end up getting violently beaten. There really isn't a fight in this card that should be the main event over Swanson, because there is next to no names in this one.

@tapmyass, actually the whole story is this: Cub gave the UFC a timeline in which he'd like to fight because he and his wife are having a baby, Artem had been harassing Cub on social media and the UFC couldn't find Cub another fight inside his timeline.

This according to Cub on The MMA Hour.

Usually I'd say that the UFC are lying through their teeth, but if you really think about it, what's in it for them? They know Cub isn't a huge ratings hog himself so why risk completely tanking because Artrm can't sell his mom toilet paper if they had any other solid choice?

My guess is, out of the few that did agree to fight, Artem's the one that'll create a grudge, come in confident, has the fire power for an upset or will alternatively lose so badly to Cub it'll give him some more star power that he desperately needs if he wants to get to the next level.

They love Conor, but they'd never give Artrm a main event solely on those grounds. That would be very silly and I doubt Conor even asked for it.

"Hay lohh you Mike, ay lov you Mike. Hyou say somesing like di fo me, and naw I say you ... I LOV YOU! See you som. Boy." -- Yoel Romero, UFC 205

I think Cub it's better in every area. Speed, technical striking, endurance, wrestling, jiu jitsu. He should be able to put Lobov away within 2. I wonder if he'll strike his way to victory or take Lobov down and eliminate any chance that Lobov possibly has.

Has potential to be lots of finishes or decisions, Dodson vs Wineland is likely a finish though
Not confident in a lot of fights here...

Alvey vs Leites, Ortiz vs Moreno, Davis vs Dandois, Ray vs Lauzon, Schnell vs Sandoval

All I know is, Lobov is getting KTFO, for sure.

Sandoval clearly has a lot of natural speed and power. A bit wild to start things off, but he settled nicely and we saw some quality blitzes.

Schnell ... he seems to have some solid technique, but his distance management leaves a lot to be desired and that's back-to-back KTFO's to start his UFC career. Both powerhouses in Font and Sandoval, to be sure, but that was a bad position to lose consciousness in. Methinks the chin is lacking.
