Thiago's stint at 162 lbs didn't last long. But I still like his speed edge over Cote in this one.

No man, as a long time Alves fan, it's kind of established that he started to decline around the 2nd Fitch fight, way before USADA. As for this one, tough fight for both. Alves by decision with with the quicker, cleaner technique. I could see either one not showing up 100% though.

I could see either winning as both are on and off.

I agree that testing had/has nothing to do with Alves' decline.I think his decline was not only attributed to injuries but his style change. After losing to GSP,Alves adopted a much more technical patient style which imo backfired bad for him.

I think his biggest weapon was being explosive, taking chances, being unpredictable, and with the style change I think he also lost a lot of killer instinct.I think that was a big negative change for him.So that coupled with injuries imo was the beginning of his decline, not to mention the evolution of the sport while Alves was injured constantly and not improving much.

I thought at one point that Alves would be champ.

Alves will lose his next fight as he has not been consistant since 2009.
