The biggest thing you have to ask yourself when it comes to who's resume is better is this, and maybe it's a flippant statement but...How many legends has MM beaten? The answer is none, and he's supposed to beat these guys. Jones has beaten legends of the sport who actually people actually know and have prestige to their name with good reason. Where as MM dominates the midget division where nobody outside of hardcore's know who they are.
When it comes right down to it, LHW is a staple of MMA royalty and holds prestige, where as the flyweight division and title is new and isn't as well liked. Also, there's one legend amongst a short list of contenders. Jon Jones isn't even active but I still consider him the best on the planet, **** P4P, and sorry, hate him or love him but he is.
