Scott Coker's plan is not just to sign the Chael Sonnen's and Tito Ortiz'... or the Phil Davis' and Rory MacDonald's. The flip-side of Coker's plan is to also build from the bottom up.
Coker has signed 5 elite level college wrestlers --National Champions and Olympic hopefulls-- who he intends to build up from pure amateurs. The hope is that he can build them into the next Daniel Cormier; who was a pure MMA amateur when Coker signed him to Strikeforce.
Coker is calling them the "Fab Five".
- Tyrell Fortune (HW)... 1-0, MMA
- Jarod Trice (LHW)...... MMA debut in Dec, Bellator 167
- Ed Ruth (MW).............. 1-0, MMA
- Joey Davis (WW)....... 1-0, MMA
- Aaron Pico (BW)......... MMA debut, YTBD

Pico ( as a junior ) vs Cuban/Italian Frank Chamizo, another monster in the wrestling world , seniors Olympics and multiple World's medalist ( potential mma prospect too / think mini Yoel , 135 - 155 range potential..) Pico is a remarkable athlete and person , and at just 19 / 20 ?!? I think it could be a wild ride with this guy, a legend in the making ( all hail lord Pico )

Ruth got rocked but came back with his bread and butter in his wrestling and bloodied up his opponent.
I've heard nothing but good things coming out of Team AKA regarding Pico. Heard he knocked out Thomson in his practice. I know he has a boxing background too.
Jacob Thrice was an absolute beast in college. I could see some nasty throws and slam coming from him.
Excited to see how all these guys pan out.
