Looks like Carwin will be the last tourney entry. Or at least fighting on the card.

Awesome. Can't wait to see Carwin fight again. He will make solid use of the Pride rule set for sure.

I believe so, there was a BYE left empty. Some thought maybe Fedor would be taking that spot but it looks like it may be Carwin.
Which I actually prefer, I don't want to see Fedor take anymore damage.

They want him to fight Fedor actually but Fedor hasn't accepted yet, Carwin's down for it.
I hope Fedor declines and just retires. Nothing left to prove at this point. No use in risking getting knocked dead by Carwin.

As a big Fedor fan but also critical of him, if he doesn't get in this GP, then just ****** retire...

I dont thinmk Fedor will accept. If Maldonado almost finished him three times and Hendo has already put him out. Carwin would destroy him.
Fedor is to old and banged up to be fighting vs fighters like Carwin, he needs the big nogs, the Ishiies the Gonzagas, or just ride into the sunset eating ice cream

Okay, but that was one round, he clearly won the last two rounds.

The fight with Flabio was a draw and should have been stopped in the first, would have been if it took place anywhere other than Russia. That ref would have let Fedor die that night, he was not stopping that **** no matter what.
I don't want to see Fedor fight ever again, he's accomplished everything he could in the sport and shouldn't come back unless it's a big payday against a scrub.

Obviously it shouldn't have been stopped if he went on to win the next two rounds lol

Just because Fedor won the next two rounds doesn't mean the fight shouldn't have been stopped. Fedor took a TON of damage in that first round, just because Bisping beat Anderson Silva doesn't mean the fight shouldn't have been stopped when Silva knocked him out at the end of the third round. Most of us would have been with that stoppage.

Still don't get why people think Bisping-Silva should have been stopped when Silva didn't follow up and Bisping was clearly talking to the referee like 3 seconds later. Fedor was stumbling across the cage on chicken legs not even looking at Maldonado though, I've seen lesser beatdowns result in standing TKOs.

@pillory
Well, to play devil's advocate, considering how Bisping was knocked down and arguably out when Silva landed that devastating knee and that usually most referees will call a fight when that kind of knockdown is landed close to the end of the round, Anderson arguably had a case to make that the fight should have been stopped. Personally, while I am not mad over Herb Dean not calling the stoppage, his consistency with regards to these situations has been spotty (which is sad considering he is one of the better refs in MMA).

@johnnyboy6969, Do you want to pussify the sport further than it is? You don't realize your argument implies you would have to argue any fight with a near finish should be stopped because they may take a lot of damage. You have to give those tough guys the chance to win, Fedor is one of them. I guess to you, he should have been stopped against Ironhead or Randleman...
It's a bad argument. Could some of the comeback wins have been stopped? Sure, but still they came back to win nonetheless. It's a great part of the sport to see a guy come back from a hellish beating to win. Maybe you and a few others want these tough fights stopped, but I don't, leave MMA be. We don't need earlier stoppages, that would suck.

I thought the fight should have been stopped, that doesn't mean I want fights stopped earlier than they should be.
Flabio should have won that fight via TKO in the first.
