Dana White said on the UFC Rio hype show that Big Nog is a future hall of famer. I've heard it talked about a lot whether the UFC would put Pride legends in the hall of fame, even if they haven't excelled in the UFC, and this is the first confirmation I've heard. Granted, Nog and Shogun have probably done the best out of the Pride transplants, he did win the interim title, but lots of title holders don't get hall of fame talk.
Also, since I'm opening this can of worms, who else do you think should be in the hall of fame, but isn't yet?

I'll just comment on Big Nog. I'm glad Dana is taking into consideration what Big Nog meant to the sport as a whole. Like you said, he's done pretty well since coming over the UFC, he's only faced top competition. He's at the tail end of his career, so he hasn't looked as sharp as he used too, but I'm glad Dana is doing the right thing, and putting Big Nog into the H.O.F.

Big Nog is 3-2 in the UFC and Shogun is 3-3. That is NOT deserving of the UFC Hall Of Fame. Maybe if there was a general MMA Hall of Fame, but not for the UFC. Rampage is 7-2 in the UFC, he's a better Pride transplant than both of them.

Anderson Silva, Tito Ortiz, Rampage Jackson, BJ Penn ... at least that's what the next few need to be

If Dana White puts Big Nog in there and not Dan Henderson, I will never watch the UFC again.

Personally, I don't think they should induct anyone until they're pretty definitely retired. I know they've used it for marketing fights for Couture and Liddell, but I'm just against the idea of "active" hall of famers.

Agreed @Dakej. Fighters shouldn't even be considered until retirement.

Are we gonna put in all UFC champs? In my opinion, Frank Mir has to do more to be in the Hall of Fame. Forrest will be in eventually because of his contribution to the UFC (the Griffin Bonnar fight for example, not to mention being a fan fav). I'd like to see people's requirements for HoF status... BJ, GSP, Anderson, and Tito (in his time) will get in because of their dominance, Rampage and Forrest will be in because of being fan favorites as well as Guida eventually. Just curious to see what y'all's requirements for hall of fame are. Mine are dominance and contribution to the sport

Firstly, honest question: Is there even a physical Hall of Fame somewhere in Vegas or is it all just kind of a special club they induct guys into at this point?
Also, I'd like to take a moment to defend Frank Mir. His personality grates on me, but he is for sure an all-time top 10 heavyweight right now. He is a former UFC heavyweight champion with wins over Tim Sylvia (I believe ranked #1 at the time), Lesnar, Nogueira, Cro Cop, and Nelson. He is a perennial contender and a threat to anyone on any given night. Also, he's only fought for the UFC since 2001, and you know they love a company man. I think he's got a good chance of getting into the hall sooner or later.

Clay in entertaining? I agree with @Soccer. Mir has held the title twice and came back after an almost fatal accident. He also helps Zuffa with commentating and is absolutely deserving. But like @Geez said with @Dake... I don't think anyone should be considered until retired. As far as Big Nog goes... absolutely he is deserving. If he ends his career in the UFC, then his entire career should be taken into consideration... just my opinion :)

Mir should go into the H.O.F. I think you need to hold a belt at one time and I think your record should matter as well. Who you beat and how dominate you were matter too. I hope the UFC keeps their hall of fame like how they're doing it now. They reserve that honor only for the abseloute most deserving. Keep it elite. As for Guida I'm a huge fan of his for how he fights and his skills are awesome to watch. He has a ton of heart as well. As of right now though he doesn't belong in the hall of fame.

@p4p i can't believe this is coming from me, but PERFECT POST! mir should be HOF, and i keep thinking where he'd be if he never got step back a few years by the motorcycle crash.
also, bj penn, ace, wandy, vitor, nog, gsp, silva, and tito ortiz should make up the next few HOF classes
