Well, Conor most likely sold another 1.5M PPV buys so guess what, he probably gets to go where ever he wants.

I personally have no interest in a 3rd fight between them unless it has some extra mustard on it, like a belt of some kind (and even then, eventually, organic, not now, forced). I think we've seen all we're ever going to see from those two ... so unless it's for something other than just watching them fight, I don't care for it.

The next 50 fights between them will be Conor edging out a decision or Nate finishing a gassed Conor ... we've seen them both, I want something fresh ...

Conor needs to get back in line, he's lost his claim for extra treatment, he's no longer "larger than the sport" (not that I bought into him being larger than the sport to start with not liked it too much, but I was intrigued to see how far he could take it and understood it), so now he needs to pick a division and be a part of it.

As for Nate, well, he's just reinvigorated so many options for so many great fights. Cerrone rematch is suddenly looking great. I'd say Cerrone vs. Nate for the winner of Alvarez vs. Khabib would be a perfect scenario for me. Ferguson looked bad against someone very non-special, so he can wait.

Cerrone going back down to 155 would be dumb. I know he seems to want it, but it would be dumb. Ferguson still won his last fight, it was a great fight, and has won 8 straight fights, he's at the point where it's pretty absurd if he needs any more wins before a title shot. If he loses to RDA, different story.

I don't think it would be dumb ... I personally like him better at 170 ... he looks healthier, happier ... I just don't think Nate would fight Ferguson. Nate's been making noises like he's only going to fight "money fights", now Cerrone isn't a certified and proven money fight, but he's at least got a following. Nate's been paid enough in his last two that he can easily sit on the fence for a while and let the UFC sweat and Cerrone seems to be a fight he'd take.

I also think Cerrone needs that fight back. I think he was starstruck and big brothered by Nate when they met and I would love to see how they matchup now that Cerrone's taken on a sports psychologist and seems to have got his upstairs sorted, making his skillset come together even better than before. **** it, let them fight at 170. Neither of them seem too interested in the strap anyway.

I don't think Germaine de Randamie should be on any matches to make list. She's got 2 fights since 2013,pulls out of most fights, rarely has a scheduled fight and just pulled out of another one.You could put Pennington vs. girl that fills in for Randamie when she pulls out of the fight.

I like all the suggested matchups. Buncha good fights to make.

Uda, Phillips, Avila, and Artem could all be cut and I would be fine with it.

For years I've thought Aldo was the best fighter at either FW or LW and it always baffled me that he never made the move or at least took a fight at LW to test himself. I completely understand Conor wanting to hold 2 belts at the same time and also completely understand the FWs not wanting to wait anymore. I don't think Conor needs to cut to FW, maybe ever again, and definitely at least until he fights for the LW belt. Yes I want to see Conor/Aldo 2, Conor/Nate 3, and even Conor/Frankie due to the style match but I think all 3 can wait.

Conor vs. Alvarez - I think Conor could and would win but Alvarez definitely could too and, like Nate, let Eddie get paid. Personally I don't ever want to see Skeletor Conor again. Let Aldo come to LW for the rematch and leave FW to Holloway and the other young stars.

Nate just made 2 mil. He doesn't need to fight right away and with his historically proven limited skill set, he should be somewhat picky about who he fights and only fight guys who won't try to decision him (other than Conor) so Cowboy makes the most sense.

Cormier/Rumble 2 is obvious
Glover vs. Gustafsson but Rua, Lil' Nog, or even Krylov or Latifi (if he beats Bader) would all be good.

While Cowboy vs. Nate would be my 1st choice, both Cowboy and Larkin could literally face anyone and I would watch.

Story vs. Cote or Cummings

Perry vs. Till or Lyman Good. AnAlias, are you one of those who think Perry's a prick and so want to punish him because making him fight the Dirty Bird seems like it which I support.
Lim vs. Thatch

Means vs. Ponzinibbio
Homasi vs. Griffin

Garbrandt may very well get the next title shot but I'd match him up with Caraway or Wineland. No rush.
Mizugaki vs. Francisco Rivera or Saenz

Pennington vs. Eye or McMann
If Phllips isn't cut then Pacheco

If Lobov isn't, Jason Knight
If Avila isn't Gutierrez or the loser of Barzola/Bochniak

While I think Casey vs. Suarez would be good, I think Casey's had a ridiculously tough start to her UFC career and deserves an easier matchup so Daly, Albu, or even Moroz.
Markos vs. Lima

Magny vs. Tumenov

Vettori vs. Collier or Nicholson

Diaz vs Cerrone 2 seems like a fun fight if Diaz does end up fighting before Diaz/McGregor III

Rumble vs Cormier 2 (Respect for Rumble to mention the crowd not to boo DC cause he is the Champ and give respect)

Teixeira vs Krylov (Awesome match up for both fighters)

Cerrone vs Robbie Lawler would be great. But I doubt it. And I doubt Cowboy will get the jump in the LW division for a rematch with Alvarez, although I would love that.

Story vs Hendricks 2 if Johny can make weight. If not Albert Tumenov would be fun.

Perry vs Erik Silva

Lim vs Matt Brown

Means vs Court McGee

@nwebb I like Diaz-Khabib but only because I'm a fan of Khabib and not a fan of Diaz. Stylisticly, its an easy fight for Khabib and a big money/popularity fight. But Diaz had nothing to win with that!

I think he's more frustrated about the money those guys are making than any belts.

Check this (all hear-say, and I don't even know how they calculated the OOV buys share because I doubt anyone but the UFC knows those numbers yet but):

From Big Brand Boys:

Conor McGregor Total UFC 202 Estimated Pay

Fight purse: $3 million. Reebok Sponsorship money: $250.000. PPV Share: $11.5 million. Fight of the night bonus: $50.000. Show money for his Vegas afterparty: $250.000 estimated.

Nate Diaz Total UFC 202 Estimated Pay

Fight purse: $2 million. Reebok Sponsorship money: $250.000. PPV Share: $10.5 million. Fight of the night bonus: $50.000. Show money for his Vegas afterparty: $150.000 estimated.

That's a quarter of a mil. just to show up for an after party! Cerrone made $170K (disclosed) for a ******* FIGHT! He'd better be frustrated ************! I'm not saying he should get dat Nate and Conor money, but he should be much closer to it than he is.

I think its all about the money too, specially since the UFC belts matter less and less, a lot of fighters dont give a **** about the belt anymore.... being the champion does not translate into money in the UFC and people want to get paid, sepcially fighters that have been on this for several years.
Nate said it before about Cowboy, he ****** up when he used to said that he didnt care about getting paid that he would fight for free. he wants a red panty night.

I think he will make a better deal now that he´s a free agent, the noly thing against him couild be that he likes to fight often and the only company that can offer him that is the UFC and Dana knows it. so it will probably cost him a few thousands per fight.

edit: if those sums are accurate its ******* amazing. it would mean good things for the sport, long term. it will attarct better gifted athletes
