Eh. Holloway's next in line for the title shot and you wanna give him a dude who just beat Caceres? Maybe if he gets his wish to headline a Hawaii card and you don't want to risk him losing his spot in the line it would be a great showcase fight.

If Bektic was finally available I'd love to see Yair against a real athlete. I think Bektic would chew him up.Without Bektic in the mix I'd say Yair's step up should be someone in the realm of Jeremy Stephens or Cub Swanson. Maybe even Lamas is you ignore the winner vs. winner and loser vs. loser classic matchmaking, he's lost enough times for him to be a solid step up for Yair.

Naturally, which is why I even entertained the idea of Holloway fighting again before the shot. Aldo isn't "in line for a title shot", he's a "champion trying to unify the belts" ... as dumb as that is, it's what I meant by Holloway being next in line ...

Yes I know Holloway will want nothing to do with the fight. When I do these I generally look at it from the POV of the fighter from this card who just fought or as a fan granted genie matchmaking powers. You can't tell me you wouldn't watch or it wouldn't be fun.

Personally I hope Holloway gets Aldo next after Conor beats Nate and gets a LW shot at Alvarez.

Holloway would maim the **** out of Yair. A lot. That'd be a helluva way to derail the hype on Yair.

They need a good Mexican fighter so they can steal away some boxing fans. They will continue to give him some o]onents he can beat.

Since Korean Zombie is coming back from a two year absence, I think a better opponent for him would be Caceres (not Yair).

I agree that Rodriguez should be fighting a top ten guy next. Unfortunately I think he trains with Cub, so probably a fight against Jeremy Stephens makes the most scenes.
