Could Ronda potentially be retiring in next 2 or 3 years? Maybe even sooner?

I am wondering if Ronda might be thinking of retiring sooner rather then later. I mean I could be reading into things, but even the way she talks in the below video, about Holly taking over when she retires (Holly is 34). She also talked about how she had to fight and to beat Holly, because if she did not and retired and Holly became champ, then people might wonder.  It almost seems like she might have even asked for Holly. This could easily be me reading into stuff, but I have a feeling she thinking of making exit much sooner rather then later.

If I had to guess, I'd of said she retires in 2 or 3 years. I mean, women's MMA has little to no talent and she's just wading through everyone, no one except Cyborg is even considered a challenge for her. Also, she thinks she could be the next Meryl Streep of acting in her fat head.

Honestly, the UFC needs to sign Cyborg, have her smash a couple talented girls and then build up Rousey vs Cyborg, that would do probably 1.2million PPV, that's an easy 10+million pay day for Ronda, if she leverages it right 20 million is even reasonable. It's beyond me why they aren't out there trying to make this happen when ...1. Rousey has no challengers and 2. It's easily one of if not the biggest fight to make.

I'd say no more than 2 years if she doesn't lose and I can't imagine many thinking that way. She fights 2-3 times a year.... That leaves room to fight Nunes and rematch both Tate and Zingano. I don't think the fight with Cyborg happens because they don't want to risk their girl losing. She's their biggest draw and I guess I don't blame them unless it's Ronda's last fight.

Of note, the UFC hasn't signed Cyborg, but she does have a contract with Zuffa, who owns Invictica, and has been quite vocal about that. She's also fighting at 140 in her next fight.

I don't see much out of line in your statement Nomad. If the UFC is playing their cards right and Ronda doesn't lose we'll see Ronda's last fight in 2017 against Cyborg at 135 and they'll pair her with Jon Jones or Conor.... In that case I think she easily does 1.2mil PPV buys.

At this point, I don't think Cyborg is even a legitimate threat, a threat compared to Holm or Tate? Yeah, probably but as a betting man if Cyborg was +200 I still wouldn't put money down. They just need to bring her over and dress her up as a threat. If Rousey loses, who cares? Then you get a rematch and both fights will do gangbusters. As for all these politics, it has completely ruined boxing the sport where everyone ducks everyone and mooks walk around saying "I don't blame him for ducking, he'd lose if he takes that fight" "I don't blame him for ducking, he Can make more money fighting a washed up big name" "he earned the right to duck, he's a warrior and had a great career"...I blame everyone for ducking sorry. Rousey, the UFC...Should be doing more to make this fight happen, it's almost like they don't want it to.

What else should UFC and ROnda be doing to get Cyborg to make weight? I am not really sure what more you want from them.  It all hanging on cyborg, no one else, she either makes the weight or not.

Also don't really see how UFC or Ronda is ducking anything. Seems pretty straight forward

I really don't think selling a Rousey rematch works. There's no way the UFC isn't playing a "what if" game with Ronda.... as in "what if" Cyborg knockers her the **** out....

Ronda has so many opportunities outside of fighting, especially if she retires with her aura of invincibility in tact.

As a fight fan, I hope she fights till she's 40, but it's just an obviously smart move for her to call it quits sooner than later.

yup.

Yeah she'll def retire in 2 years. She's made about enough money/noteriety already to coast the rest of her life on name value alone.

i really hope Cyborg/Rousey never happens. Its past its expiration date. That will more than likely happen as rondas last fight when an old depleated Cyborg stands little to no chance.

i bet you guys wanted GSP to drop to 155 to fight BJ Penn too, huh?

I think she'll "retire" in the next 2-3 as well, mostly because she wants to have kids. However, I definitely expect her to make a comeback from retirement after she's satisified with the size of her brood - perhaps a 4-6 year break before she returns. By that time, there should be new, better challengers, and you know her ego and competitiveness would not allow her to resist making a comeback.

She's clearly competitive, but she didn't make another run at the Olympics after she left Judo so she isn't coming back to MMA when she leaves.

If she loses this weekend (doubt it), then that will change everything.

My guess is that 2016 is the year she solidifies her legacy with another 2 wins, then I think she retires either at the end of 2016 or 2017.

yes and it would be awesome if it was Ronda who was on the losing end.

I would love to see Dana's face if that happened.
