This fight is awesome but shouldn't it be edgar vs Holloway for the title shot? I haven't had internet besides my phone which I hate using. so I don't know if they skipped Holloway cause mendes is the bigger fight, but if so, that sucks ****.                                                                                                     I really don't want to see mendes fighting for a title again just yet when there's other contenders. Just stupid imo, but ratings I guess. Ufc is going all ratings lately it's pathetic. Whether I missed something on why Holloway is out or not it's still the truth.

Prediction: correct Edgar   correct KO/TKO   wrong Round 4  

Imo, they've finally got viable young challengers so they don't need both Edgar & Mendes as title challengers. Until Holloway/Oliveira, nobody but Edgar was a realistic title contender for Aldo if he beats Conor. Obviously the rematch would work if Conor wins. Now not only Holloway but the winner of this fight is viable and both Bektic & Edmilson Souza are 3-0. I don't think Souza will pan out at the top level but Bektic could and that gives them enough options to last thru 2016 during which time some of the other top 10ers coming off losses could earn their way back.

Plus this fight is overdue. The clear #s 2&3 for the last few years.

I think Edgar is pretty much better then Mendes everywhere, but this is a very bad stylistic match up for him. Mendes wrestling is as good or better and has the speed/power to knock edgar out. I think Edgar a better striker but does not really have the power to threaten Mendes from blizting in. I think Edgar's a much better grappler, but might not be able to get it to the ground.

Mendes had more power in his punches for sure.  he not have the footwork, though.  Tough fight to pick and would like to see either as champ.

Prediction: correct Edgar   wrong Decision  

I see Mendes knocking down Edgar one or two times on the early rounds breaking his nose, but Edgar will recover like nothing happened. Mendes will not attempt a takedown because the knockdowns will influence him to strike with Edgar, but Edgar will dominate the striking match by volume of punches and leg kicks. 

On the late rounds, Mendes will try to take the fight to the ground, but Edgar's gas tank advantage will let him stuff all the takedowns forcing the fight standing up, then Mendes will become desperate, swinging left and right. As he swings, he will land a powerful overhand right hand to the jaw of Edgar. Edgar will be rocked!!!! Mendes will look for the finish, he throws an uppercut, Edgar goes down!!!! Mendes will land three hammer punches, but the fifth bell will ring as it goes the distance. Edgar wins via unanimous decision. :-)

Frankie Edgar is the uncrowned champ imo. He lost a razor thin decision to Aldo and lost a BS decision to Bendo. I think he'll weather the early storm, and finish Chad in similar fashion to how he did to Gray. Either way, this was the fight to make. Let's be honest; Edgar would have messed Holloway up. Chad has a great chance, this is a good fight stylistically for Chad. Frankie always seems to find a way to win, though. Can't wait for this fight! December is gonna be great!

I actually think Mendes beats Edgar and Conor beats Aldo, although I hope Edgar wins.

Yea I agree, Bendo clearly beat Edgar the first fight, the second was close but I think Edgar won it.

I agree, I have Bendo vs Edgar  1 a piece. 

I thought Penn won the first Edgar fight..though Ive been a BJ fan for a long time...possibly some bias.  Id have to rewatch.
