Madadi was on The MMA Hour a while ago and talked to Ariel about the matter. According to Madadi, he was wrongly accused and imprisoned. If I'm remembering correctly, he basically said he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Madadi also saved a father and toddler from drowning in 2012. I'd guess they'll try to talk that up and ignore the fact that he was in prison for over a year.

I don't think anyone but designer handbag store owners are 'offended' about his return. It just seems counterintuitive to the UFC's public appeals for legitimacy to bring back a 37 year old with an average record and a recent criminal conviction unless they are a big marketing boon.

Well at least Madadi is fighting a guy who goes to decisions a lot and doesn't have a lot of power. I think in the grappling department, Madadi should have the advantage, but the layoff and whatnot make me hesitant to pick him. I think he has the slight edge but we'll see.
