Predictions: 6 of 11 Winners, 1 Perfect, 365 Points   |   Tied for 773rd

The fighters are weighed in and we're set for what may be the best card of the year (on paper).

Let's hope it delivers.

Prelims kick off on UFC Fight Pass at 7pm ET before moving over to FS1 at 8pm. The PPV main card, as always, starts at 10pm.

Let's get this topic as (respectably) rowdy as the Irish fans in attendance will be Saturday night!

I just watched 'The Notorius' on Fox and it makes the evidence even more cinvincing that they wanted Conor to fight for the title way before Siver.

With all the money that's being spent by UFC pumping up Conor.....Dana should have gone to Chad behind the scenes and said ill pay you 2 million for you to lose tonight, with a rematch within one year since we can sell that you took this fight on short notice. (Conor's title unification bout after Aldo). Chad's response "Ok".

Lol its weird I'm almost thinking this fight is gunna play out like Johnson/DC did but with Mendes getting the TKO/KO victory instead of a submission in the third.

i think it plays out more like shogun v. jones situation. jones rose to the occasion when he finally got his shot. Conor can do the exact same thing.  gotta love the 8 inch reach advantages and 3 inch height advantages jon had over rua and which is exactly the same thing Conor has over Mendes.

From Dave Meltzer:

"Those in UFC claim that the PPV advance for Saturday as far as orders go as of Wednesday were ahead of any show to date including UFC 100. Almost all PPV buys are done the day of the show so that isn’t yet a strong indication of guaranteed success, but it’s a good indication. Within the PPV industry, the belief is this will top 725,000 buys and that with Aldo, it would have beaten that handily.
The belief is a McGregor win would mean Aldo vs. McGregor, whenever that would happen, would be much bigger than it would have been tomorrow. However, a Mendes win, the belief is, would cost all parties involved a combined $45 million. And a lot of smart people favor Mendes, although McGregor is the betting favorite."

No way this will do 1.6 million buys. He is not Brock Lesnar.

UFC 100 had the combined effect of being UFC 100, a crossover milestone for the sport as it was in the midst of its breakout period, a Brock Lesnar-Frank Mir rematch title fight and GSP vs. Thiago Alves in the midst of GSP's reign of dominance.

The two biggest PPV draws in MMA history on the same show.

If 189 does over 700k, I'll be pleasantly surprised. If it does less than 500k, a bit of a disappointment. I expect somewhere between 500-700.

No it won't be. Mendes beats McGregor tonight, rather easily, and Aldo/Mendes III will happen again soon. Only way McGregor gets another title shot after tonight is if the UFC feeds him complete cans, which they have done a good job of doing thus far. So you never know, I guess.
