PEDs

Well, I guess it's good the NAC has stepped up testing. Good in the long-run anyway.

Lombard certainly failed the eye test for years, but now we have confirmation.

Why is this just now coming out? That event was 5 and a half weeks ago!

It takes a while to run a full PED screening. Fight night drug tests always come out weeks later.

Is there a list of fighters currently suspended for failing drug tests? I know Robert Drysdale is and I can't imagine that Silva, Diaz, or Lombard get out of a suspension. They're not the biggest draws out there, but still, enough to wreak havoc on PPV numbers.

This is great, I used to get bummed out with these failed tests, now I say **** it, catch them all, we'll watch who's left fight. Funny thing is that with random testing, even those that were masters of cycling off like Overeem, Lombard, maybe even Anderson know they'll eventually get caught but can't stop because (a) it's hard to let o of that kind of advantage (especially when you know for a fact that there's a big chance your opponent is also juicing and might get caught) and (b) I don't think your body responds well to going cold turkey off PEDs.

Of course Lombard was going to get popped for PED's.  Why wouldn't he considering how he dropped down two weight classes, and yet he still has the physique of a ******* bodybuilder.  I like Lombard as a fighter (even if he has a stupid nickname); but there is no way anyone can honestly say that a guy like Lombard, who quickly drops down from to 205 to 170, becomes a dominant fighter at 170 while not losing any physical advantages from cutting weight wasn't going to test positive for some form of PED sooner or later.

These are what I can find recently.
Kevin Casey is serving 1 year suspension.
Mike King got 9 months
Brian Ortega received 9 months
Piorter Hallman received 9 months
Ali Baugatinov recieved 1 year
Chael Sonnen 2 years
Wanderlei lifetime ban.

@Yossgold Lombard got caught in a post fight drug test not a random so he obviously ****** up his cycle or is as master at it as he thought.

I know, I was talking about that in general there has been an increase in failure since they started the random testing.

How guys sti get caught in the known tests is beyond me, I mean by now should the science and knowledge of how long it stays in your system and when to cycle off be pretty clear?

Funny part of that list is that Wanderlei was the only fighter to technically not fail a test ... and he's got the most severe penalty.

Chael lies about a lot of things. He only received a 2 year suspension though one commissioner threatened a lifetime ban.

this was supposed to be a good year for the UFC after the 2014 fiasco, and so far we have:

  •  2 champs injured
  • 1 likes to do coke for fun
  • Biggest comeback and arguably  the GOAT pops for PEDs and probably be suspended for a while.
  • Diaz return to the sport briefly only to get suspended again probably wont fight again this year.
  • Top WW and possibly contender Lombard popped and probably wont fight again this year.
  • exciting prospect Baugatinov 1 year suspension.
  • GSP is nowhere near of coming back.
  • 125 div contender Lineker no longer fights at 125 and he just defeated the second best contender at that division.

and we are just in February. how many more fighters will get suspended for PED's will there be any champions among them? how many of them are going to be contenders? how many more great fights we are going to miss?

this is a painful sport to love.

Yeah, not too surprising, but I wouldn't crown Asskan yet.  He and GSP both take Viagra before any 5 rounder.
