Looking at the level of opposition side-by-side, it's honestly laughable. I'm not the biggest Aldo fan, and I have no problem admitting that Conor has brought some much needed light to the featherweight division. But still. R3KT.

I do like this though. This will be the most attention an Aldo fight has ever received, and maybe after he makes quick work of his opposition, the media and fans will start recognizing him for what he is; one of the best fighters of all time.

Cool. I'm planning on attending this one anyway.  Had such a great time at International Fight Week last year, I decided to go again in 2015.

Why is this one so far away? I thought for sure it would be at 187 or 188. 187 would've been 125 days between fights for McGregor and 210 days for Aldo. 188 would've been 146 days for McGregor and 231 days for Aldo. Seems like a really long time for them to prepare.

@Zarog it most likely has less to do with the fighters getting in shape and more to do with wanting to promote the crap out of it.

Irish people have less explosive athleticism in their genes, the advantage goes Aldo.

@Fantasy To me the best way to promote it is to keep it in the public mind. By setting the date so far away people will have forgotten the Aldo/Mendes II fight and by then McGregor's gonna have to do a lot more heavy lifting on promotional work. Recency is a big deal when it comes to promoting the fight and it's gonna take more work to get people to remember these guys by waiting six months between fights.

Jones/Cormier did fine even though the fight got set back 5 months from when the MGM brawl happened. McGregor has already managed to keep his hype even though he was out for almost a year after the Holloway fight.

@Zarog I'm not disagreeing with you, just trying to see from the UFC pov and why they would do it. The other thing to consider is that there is typically a big show in the summer and right now they have no other fight worthy of being the "big summer fight" other than this one.

Haha definition of hater. No worries though man, I'd rather McGregor have 1000s of hater instead of a bunch of bandwagon fans.

Would anyone know when around tickets will go on sale? And how quickly would it sell out?

I imagine they will go on sale a month or two before the event and with this fight being in Vegas and being as popular as its going to be i would imagine it would sell out quick like within hours. If you really want tickets I would join the UFC club thingy. they get to buy tickets like a week before they go on sale to the public. otherwise you will probably end up paying a scalper top dollar to go.

2 fighters with the best stand-up in the division and probably the best chins, no wonder the ufc pushed mcgregor up the ranks faster than they normally would with any other fighter.
