Jones is a good fighter, which is why it is so disturbing that he feels the need to gouge out every opponents' eyes. It's ridiculous.

Didn't like this card, glad I didn't buy it. Hate me all you want but Lombard and Jones were half decent fights. I honestly wanted to throw a chair into Tavarez and Goosh fights. I mean it wasn't that bad it's just I lost all patience during that Marquart/Tavarez abomination

I honestly don't think he intentionally pokes guys in the eye. It does happen way too often for my liking though. He needs to get out of the habit of holding his ******* hands open when he's measuring guys, or whatever.

Those body shots took out DC. In the 4th round he looked like he didn't really want to fight anymore.

@Facestomper-I think they need to throw two titles on each PPV to be honest. It just gives it more appeal and worth $60. I knew Tavares/Marquardt was going to go exactly as it did. Tavares has crazy abilities, but doesn't let it go ever.

What happened to 100/100 DC? I can't believe some people. We are witnessing in all likely hood the greatest fighter to ever step into a cage (hard for me to admit) and all fans can do instead of appreciate that is whine because they want to judge a guy (Jones) whom they never met and really have no idea about. Do we really have to like every fighter? Even if you were rooting for DC you have to at least acknowledge the greatness of JBJ.

^ Normally, yes, but it's not going to for me. Aldo won't leapfrog Jones for me if he beats McGregor. As much as I love McGOATor, Aldo beating him is not in the same league as Jones beating DC. Jones will be the top guy for me for a while considering the guys lined up to fight him, unless he loses that is.

I can't stand Jones. Like, I just can't wait for either Gus or Rumble to get their hands on him.

With that being said; neither man looked great tonight, but "Bones" took a lot out of DC. Those body shots were good. DC could still easily win the belt, though.

Overall, it was a kinda crappy PPV. Really no good fights. None were too exciting. Jones/DC was good until Jon held him up against the cage.

@sreimuth
For future PPVs, they should go back to UFC 1 rules: no weight classes, rounds, time limits, or judges.

Have the top 8 in a division battle it out in a one day tournament. And once a year you have a Super PPV with the top 8 p4p.

So the current bracket would be.

1 Jon Jones
8 Anderson Silva

5 Anthony Pettis
4 Chris Weidman

3 Demetrious Johnson
6 Cain Velasquez

7 Ronda Rousey
2 Jose Aldo

All I know is that I'll be watching Gus vs Rumble very closely, Rumble is a bad matchup for Jones. But Gustaffson is a bad matchup for Rumble, but mma math doesn't work, so we'll wait and see what happens.

The problem wasn't lack of title fights it was lack of fighters really hungry to win. Guys like Burkman and Gaudinot were just happy to be in the UFC and not desperate to win. Marquardt is just collecting a paycheck and Tavares never takes risks. Jury respected Cerrone too much and after the first he switched to just trying to survive and not getting destroyed, his gameplan was gone when Cerrone owned him grappling and he was beat mentally.  So many of the fights consisted of a dominant fighter just walking his opponent down whith the opponent backpedaling afraid to really engage. That kind of thing happens in title fights as well, Aldo vs Lamas comes to mind.

Why is Rumble a bad matchup for Jones?  Jones is a better striker, bigger frame, better wrestling, more dynamic.  What edge does Rumble have except for raw power?

That's the only thing Jones really lacks is that 1 punch stopping power.

1) Sorry for digging this thread up.

2) I swear this is the first and last time I'll ever brag about a bet here, but seriously guys, DONALD CERRONE at 1.74 against Jury? A guy who just beat a completely over the hill Diego Sanchez and then an even more over the hill Takanori Gomi? This is one of the worst cases of out-of-control hype I've ever seen.
