Sorry for digging this up, but...

@AllHailKrull Hunt had him against the cage and was completely nullified anyway, Werdum had no reason to shoot for takedowns against Browne and I seriously consider Alistar to be one of the all-time greats in terms of MMA grappling.

Oh, and Werdum actually did sub him once.

Alister all time great at grappling? That quite the exaggeration, off the top of my head I could easily name 10 guys better then him in MMA grappling..........

Werdum has improved his striking leaps and bounds, but he seemed to have forgotten all about it last saturday when Hunt begun his offensive. Werdum probably won't feel as in much danger of being instantly KO'd against Cain, but I think it's gonna go pretty much like the 2nd JDS fight, when JDS couldn't seem to understand what was happening during the first round, and how this guy that he knew how to counter (and had beaten before) was taking control of the fight, with his fast pace and his non stop offensive. I don't think werdum's striking defense is prepared for Cain after what I saw in his Hunt fight. Cain will soften him up on the distance and will destroy him in the clinch, and I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Cain goes to the ground and make him feel his gnp and elbows for a minute, just to make him know that theres no place safe for him on the cage.

Also can anyone please explain me why the **** Hunt didn't went for the kill when he dropped Werdum several times  but then he choose to go to  the ground just because...if he was going to take that kind of ******* risk why didn't he went for it on the first place when he had Werdum hurt?....

@Franklin880088 MMA grappling? In the heavyweight division?

I mean... There are some great pure grapplers out there but I can't even name a single one who had a clinch/ground game as smothering and devastating as Overeem's.

EDIT: Whose grappling is better in MMA? Frank Mir's or Alistair Overeem's? Some people might answer "Frank Mir's", but I wouldn't know how to even begin discussing it with those people.

I don't think he had Werdum hurt at all. I think Werdum just "went with it" and dove down to try and sucker Hunt in. Exactly what he did with Fedor. Despite what many people say Werdum has a really solid chin and has taken some big shots to prove it. Look at how many killers he fought and only 1 KO. I thought Hunt was pretty smart to just stay back and make him stand. I have no clue why Hunt later got down into his guard for no reason though lol.

@FantasyMMA If you weight 280 pounds and your opponent has his back against the cage, any grappling is pretty safe, even if said opponent is Fabricio Werdum. Werdum didn't let Hunt get any ground and pound going, but he was clearly desperate to get the fight away from the cage - he even said so in an interview in Portuguese afterwards.

You said and I quote "Alistar to be one of the all-time greats in terms of MMA grappling" o, so now your changing it to strictly the heavy weight division? Because you where implying all of MMA before, which was insanity, because fighters like Maia, Oliveria, condit and I could go on and on, are leaps and bounds better graplers then Overreem. However if your talking just the heavy weight division, then there not much argument, since the division is extremely weak and has never had great graplers, and is really not much of an accomplishment given the fact he mostly just out muscled his opponents via being way larger/stronger because he abused the **** out of roids.

is it just me or does anyone else notice that just before the fighters fight they look towards their left and right and proceed to nod there head .. THEY DO THIS in BETWEEN rounds as well .. it looks shady as hell lol I would not be surprised if some massive corruption comes out sometime in the future and one of the fighters decides to tell everyone what goes on behind the scenes

makes me wonder what Dana means when he says ANYTHING can happen in a fight and when fighters say I just got caught or it just wasn`t my night lol

either way my interest in the UFC has never been lower  .. it just has not been the same since after UFC 148 sonnen vs silva 2

@Jesus couldn't Dana or "whoever" just tell the fighters what they want BEFORE the fight? Giving them directions in between rounds would be a bit foolish no?

@nubs

LOL way to jump to crazy conclusions. First off fighters are not good enough actors to throw fights the way you are implying. Also really moving there head back in forth before fights is suspicious to you? You ever think they might be looking around at you know the crowed of thousands of people scream at them? Also between rounds you think it shady that they move there head back and forth? It normal dude. If your adrenalin is running and someone talking to you like there corner men, your not going to stare dead ahead your going to turn your head. Dude seriously, if you going to come up with conspiracy ****, at least have it make sense, instead of jumping to crazy conclusion based on very normal human reactions.

You guys ever notice that some fighters wear boxing trunks and others wear the tighter lycra shorts, and then in between rounds their cornerman will pour water down the front of their shorts? It wouldn't surprise me if some stuff came out about MMA athletes being part fish. Then in post fight interviews they say stuff like blub blub blub, etc.
