Hendo is funny. Seriously what was he watching? Aldo 4-1 was right on and easy to see.

I love Conor to death, but if Cub adds Frankie to his already impressive streak and doesn't get a shot he should move to Bellator ;)

Also, I think Chad needs to fight Cub/Frankie loser. No more entry-level bounce-back fights.

Cub should get the shot at Aldo if Cub beats Edgar, irrespective of anything else that goes on in the division. If Cub loses, but Bermudez wins, Bermudez should get the shot. If Bermudez and Cub both lose, then McGregor should get the shot if he beats Siver. If Edgar wins, he should be Mendes' next opponent. If Cub wins and Lamas wins, Lamas should be Mendes' next opponent. Even if McGregor beats Siver (most likely, he will), due to the timing, he may end up fighting another time after that before getting a title shot. Difficult to say. I'll be interested to see the medical suspensions as I believe Mendes and Aldo are both going to have  60+ days no contact suspensions.

Good thing Frankie's gonna solve everyone's problems and beat Cub. Then Conor stays in line on account of Frankie being not too far removed from an unsuccessful jab at Aldo.

I don't see Cub beating Frankie. Poor dude totally deserves to though, he's done more than enough to get his shot at Aldo, but then again, if he can't beat Frankie maybe it's better he doesn't get another shot.

Yea, @ Yoss. I see Lamas beating Bermudez as well. So Conor is likely in line.

I rather see Magny fight on December 20th in Brazil against a Brazilian to see if can get his 6th win this year, rather than see him given a fight up the ladder to see if he can handle it.

- Neil Magny (13-3) vs. Yan Cabral (12-1) (if he's ready in eight weeks)

- Neil Magny (13-3) vs. Alberto Mina (11-0) (otherwise)

After that 5 round war, I don't see Aldo fighting again for another six months. Aldo's already quite inactive, so Conor fighting in January and being ready by April again I don't see as being a problem.

@unbeknowst- Cabral is at lightweight, but LaFlare can fight him before the year ends as well.

Really impressed with Davis in this last fight.  I would like to see him Anderson Silva like he mentioned.

@unbeknownst That's actually not the way I was looking at it. Aldo is incredibly inactive (unfortunately), so if he doesn't wanna fight until May or June, McGregor might fight again before fighting Aldo.

These last couple of years Aldo has fought one at the beginning of the Calendar year (Jan-Feb) and once around this time (Aug-Oct).

I don't think this is coincidental and I see it happening again, so whoever's ready for Jan-Feb gets a shot, the rest duke it out between themselves until Aug-Oct.

Aldo doesn't like fighting, it's his best route to an income and pretty damn good at it.

2 fights a year, that's all we're gonna get from him. People who think we "got WEC Aldo back" are gonna be disappointed. He was a bit more pumped up for this fight (mainly because it pisses him off when people actually think his opponent can beat him and because it was in Brazil), he may be even more so by the time Conor is done with the verbal abuse, but after that, it's most likely back to safe, paycheck-collecting Aldo, imo. And who can blame him.

@yossgold

Since Aldo got injured in August his timeline go pushed back as well by a few months. With Weidman/Belfot being set for end of February, Cain saying he'll be ready by March, and Cruz/Dillashaw happening around that time; Having Aldo sit out until April or Memorial day to fight McGregor might be inevitable.

I think the UFC got real with McGregor and showed them their calendar and when they thought Aldo would fight again after tonight and McGregor decided that it would be in his best interest to take a fight in the interim. Which tells me that regardless of what happens in the Bermudez or Swanson fights this is McGregor's spot to lose. The UFC knows what money fight is, not what's fair.

@sreimuth

The reason I said December 20th is that's the last UFC event of the year and it's eights weeks out from tonight. It's also the only card left that's not full. The December 13th card already has 13 fights on it. I just want Magny to be given a shot a breaking the record this year, and since the card is being held in Brazil it only makes sense that he's matched up against a Brazilian.

@zarog

McGregor is fighting again in January. However he's not going to fight in January, get booked for a fight in March, and then again in May when Aldo is ready.

The main reason being tickets sales. If the UFC books Aldo/McGregor for their flagship Memorial Day card, they're going to announce the main event months ahead for ticket sales. They're not going to risk that massive main event on an important card so McGregor can squeeze in one more fight.
