I still had respect for Chael after the TRT issue at UFC 117 because he was in a legal limit he just didn't make it clear he was on TRT and then he failed over the fertility drugs a couple of weeks ago alright they weren't PEDs no harm in my book then but then yesterday he failed for HGH and EPO I don't what EPO is but I know HGH is definitely a PED and I lost all respect because I want to believe Chael wasn't a cheater but when you put human growth hormones in your body you know that is a banned substance it's one of most know PEDs out there sad day for Sonnen fans and bad day for the UFC to because he's one the most recognizable faces of the company

There is not a fighter that exists who I have more respect for than Chael Sonnen. He only tested positive for HGH because it runs naturally in his veins; that's right, when people take steroids they're just taking some good ol' Chael fluid.

If I was ever going to stop respecting Chael, I would have done so long ago. I don't really care if the man has radioactive piss. He's my favorite fighter, and that's not changing anytime soon. Just like Mike will never stop supporting Wandy (and more power to him for that), I will never stop supporting Chael. It's as simple as that.

Ben, I never said I admired him as a person. I can appreciate a fighter as just that; a fighter. By no means would I ever promote, or even emulate the kind of life he has had outside of the sport. However, the ability to keep sports and personal lives secular is one that I value. Babe Ruth was known to cheat on his wife and had several bouts with alcoholism. Yes, Ty Cobb was racist, but did you know that Rogers Hornsby was a member of the Ku Klux Klan? Someone can be revered as an athlete without being appreciated as a person. Hence why I firmly stand by my belief that Pete Rose should be in the Baseball Hall of Fame. It's what you do in your profession that ultimately matters for fanhood. I think Chris Benoit is still one of the greatest technical wrestlers of all time, even if the guy was a low-life that killed his family then took the coward's way out.

Thanks for explaining. That's reassuring, because you seem like a good guy, SonnensSyringe. I'm not that kind of fan though. I'm more of a Gestalt sportsfan. All my emotions, moral and aesthetic preferences, likes and dislikes, all go together.

You never cared for his fighting style? Even though I see him as a villain, Chael P. Sonnen's fighting style is on point. The man can fight, and he's fearless. "One more for the bad guy" indeed. And the tougher the bad guy, the sweeter the victory when your guy (in my Case Anderson) finds a way to beat him.
