I went back all the way to the 20th page and didn't see anyone who started a thread about movies. If there is one, just let this thread sink away into the abyss of thread history, but if not, this is something we can talk about. We've got one for every sport, music, and TV shows. So I figured might as well.

Watched "Into the Storm" last night. It's basically a found footage version of Twister. The tornado disaster scenes are pretty good, better than trailer implied. The story itself is pretty meh in fact anything that happens when a tornado is not on screen is mediocre.

TMNT was so meh. Seriously huge disappointment to my low expectations. Only went to see it because my Nephew wanted to go.

@zarog you are correct. My wife and I have had it over a year now. I pay $29.99  a month (per person). With movies at night being 13 bucks a pop (at the theater i frequent) you make your money back quick.

It's a good product but not without it's drawbacks.  The app that you use is sometimes buggy and show times don't always appear. Every time we go to a thursday night premiere we have to call customer service to check in. My wife did a financial breakdown on our blog and we saved over a grand for the year.

Another Hollywood legend Lauren Bacall has passed away today at age 89. Though not as shocking or untimely or under the same tragic circumstances as Williams it is still sad. My wife is actually named after Lauren Bacall.

I saw "Get On Up" yesterday which is about the life story of James brown. The movie itself is decent though a lite long in that feels long. Chadwick Boseman does an excellent job in the lead roll, I also really like him in "42".

Today I saw "A Most Dangerous Man" the late Philip Seymour Hoffman was phenomenal as always and the story itself is quite intriguing. It's a spy thriller that takes place in Hamburg.... man I never thought signing bank documents could be so intense.

I walked into the room when the trailer was halfway through playing and I thought it was a Taken spinoff. I read the description and watched the entire trailer, it is not entirely a Taken-type movie, but Liam Neeson is basically playing the same character here.

That time of year is coming up, where we all head over to our local Blockbuster or Redbox to rent a spooky movie.

Here are my Top 10 movies (in no order) to watch on Halloween...

The Thing (1982) - My all time favourite horror movie

Halloween (1978)

The Exorcist

Braindead - A forgotten Peter Jackson film

The Evil Dead II

Dawn of the Dead

Re-Animator - The beginning of a lesser-known 'The Evil Dead' type horror trilogy

Ju-On - The movie that inspired the American remake "The Grudge"

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)

Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) - A way better version of the 2007 remake starring James Bond

I'm a big fan of Halloween, not the torture pron type films but monsters, goblins & demons etc. So far for my countdown to Halloween I have watched:

Re-Animator
Pumpkinhead
Hatchet
Night of The Living Dead (1990 verson)
The Conjuring
Poltergeist
The Cabin in the Woods (best horror film I've seen in the last few years)
Jack Brooks Monster Slayer (little known, but hilarious b-film)
Insidious (I have never watched the entire film)

Feel free to share yours

Just saw John Wick last night. Pretty solid action movie. Cool fight scenes, had a nice mix of humor and action, not too much dialog. It seemed like it didn't try to be more than it was, and I appreciated that.

I heard good things from John Wick so I will probably see it. I mean they kill the dog in the trailer, I would be pissed off too.

I did see Dracula: Untold though, it was alright. I didn't hate it or anything. Defiantly one of the better Vamp movies that I have seen compared to what has been coming out. I really don't like the Underworld series so that was out. But I always seem to like movies from Legendary Pictures, so I thought it might be good. It has good action, an ok story, and a good look to it, but if you are even familiar to who Dracula is the ending is not at all surprising. I might get the DVD when it comes out. But Bard from the Hobbit was good in it. So 6.5 out of 10.

@Griffy, that is a favorite of mine. Hard to believe Peter Jackson directed Meet The Feebles, Bad Taste and The Frighteners before the LOTR series.
