I went back all the way to the 20th page and didn't see anyone who started a thread about movies. If there is one, just let this thread sink away into the abyss of thread history, but if not, this is something we can talk about. We've got one for every sport, music, and TV shows. So I figured might as well.

I saw Deepwater Horizon and it made me think of the 70s era disaster films.

Deepwater Horizon was really good, it surprised me. The action is pretty impressive once everything goes to hell. It was very intense.

It was intense.  I am looking forward to Wahlberg's other movie this year. It is called Patriot's Day. It is about the Boston bombings.

Patriots day is also directed by Peter Berg who did Deepwater Horizon and Lone Survivor. His new niche is true life stories starring Mark Wahlberg.

Warriors is one of my fav movies. Tony Danza and Deniro originally wanted to be in the movie.
If not for Xanadu, I think that Michael Beck's career would have taken off.

2017 is off to a good start with its big releases. M. Night Shyamalan continued his comeback with the mpvie "Split." Jordan Peele made a genuinely creepy darkly comedic horror film with "Get Out." Now the first two studip blockbusters to come out this year are actually good. "Logan" was amazing with a much more strupped down gritty version of Wolverine as its R rating really allows filmmakers to develop Logan like he has never been developed. Also "Kong: Skull Island" came out thia weekend and it gives us exactly what we want, "Kodng ******* **** up. This is one of the best modern day Giant monstee movies you can see. It is an absolute blast.

Not in the general M. Night Shyamalan twist sense. There is a reveal that just puts a few things into context.

You said, Shyamalan continuing his comeback? What was there before Split that was good or even decent in a long time?I honestly don't remember anything. From memory he's just finally made a decent movie again instead of literally going farther and farther downhill each movie to the point where some were just downright stupid.

Maybe directing Wayward Pines is part of the comeback? That show was pretty awesome (first season),but when I think of Shyamalan doing something that's "his" I think of him writing and directing, which is generally what he does.Split is the first good/decent movie he's written and directed since idk The Village, well over 10 years ago.

Split was pretty solid though, kinda gives me hope in him again, well not much hope, but there's a possibility he might be back on track. He's obviously a super talented guy.
